Individual stated that he was from a legal firm, that he represented a firm called Titan, that I had taken out a loan with this company and had failed to pay it back in full.  I have never taken out a loan with any firm called titan and I have no outstanding loans. I stated so, said that this was probably a prank and that I would take no action without documentation and slamed the phone down.

Got a phone call from a guy saying he was a private courier trying to deliver a package. He said I need two forms of ID and a witness to get the package. He said he would come to my house Monday 12-5 and if I wanted to stop the services I could call 610-675-0853 to pick up the package and the HR manager would sign as a witness. Since when does a courier call first and why do I need a witness to see me sign something.  What if I live alone?  My first reaction was to get upset because I'm thinking someone is trying to sue me but when I googled the number, I'm seeing other complaints. I haven't been able to reach anyone at that number yet because it is the weekend but will try on Monday to see what happens.

Got a call at work from a man named "David Lackey" (610) 675-0853 ext 3211. He knew my name and last four digits of my social. I told him not to call my place of employment. He proceeded to call back twice threatening to serve me at work. He also called every extension here in an attempt to embarrass me. This is illegal, so I hung up on him. I called back and asked for the name of the company, where it's located and his supervisor. He put me on hold. He returned to the phone stating "Ms S what do you want?" I then told him that I'm glad he acted this way and all his threats and attempts to embarrass me was illegal. He hung up. I proceeded to call him back asking for info, he replied you'll get that when you're served and hung up. I called again and he gave me the same response and hung up again. Immediately cell phone rang from the number with a woman on the phone. I put her on speaker, so my co-workers can hear. I asked her what is the company name? She paused the said Civil Arbitrators when googled (no such business exists). She proceeded to ask if I could be served at another address, I told her you would have to. I asked her what is the address and who is the supervisor? She said I'm about to terminate this call because I'm not about to argue with you. I asked why can't you give me the info that I asked for? She said you're not going to get on my nerves and hung up!

Listen everyone a legitimate business does not act this way. If you tell them that they are not to contact your place of business, they cannot! Also they are not supposed to harass or attempt to embarrass you. Know your rights!!!

Google: how to deal with harassing calls from a Bill Collector for information and also contact a legal representative if this continues!!!

As I usually do, I called my mom yesterday to see how she was doing and she seemed to be extremely upset. When I questioned her further, she told me she just got this very "troubling" phone call from someone trying to find my sister. A woman told mom that they were looking for my sister to serve her with a subpoena. When mom asked what the subpoena was for, they wouldn't give her any details and would only tell her that my sister is in HUGE trouble with the law. They gave mom a phone number and EXPECTED a return call the same day!

I was sooo upset with this woman because of what she did to mom, that I decided to call her back and pose as my sister to see what was going on. The woman who answered the phone would not identify herself or her company, but did say that they were representing a local bank. I asked for her reason for calling and she told me that there are charges pending against me for "Malicious Intent to Defraud a Financial Institution." She further said that I (supposedly) took out a loan at a local bank and never repaid it. [Incidentally, this bank has not been in business for years; and, family members have NEVER had loan(s) and/or account(s) of any type at this bank.] She went on to tell me that I should either get an attorney to represent me OR I could choose to settle out of court. (I'm assuming this is probably where you're asked for credit card info to pay for the so-called "settlement.")

Next I was asked to confirm my address at "P.O. Box ___." (Hmm...how in the world are they going to serve a subpoena to a P.O. Box?) At this point, I decided it was time to start challenging her. I told her that this was nothing but a huge scam, she would NOT be receiving any out-of-court settlement money from me, and she would surely get "sore eyes" looking for it! This "kind, gentle lady" turned into a dragon and tried threatening me by saying that I should expect to get "served" the next day...to which I replied, while you're at it, could you also plan to serve me breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Needless to say, she was just a "tad" ticked off, so I hung up on her.

What really "jerked my chain" about this incident is that my elderly mother has SEVERE health issues, including recovering from a stroke. The stress alone from a phone call like this could have severe consequences on her and others like her. Please share this info so it doesn't happen to you and your loved ones.

I've recently been told that these scammers somehow get their hands on either old credit reports or something containing just enough personal info (SS#, relatives, etc.)  to possibly pull this scam off, especially on innocent people like the elderly. They use plenty of scare tactics (including jail time) to try to separate you from your money. Don't let it happen! Do what you have to do to protect your loved ones by letting them know about this scam...even if it means taking away credit cards temporarily!

The phone number associated with this particular scam is (610) 675-0853. You can Google this number to find out more info. In fact, I would recommend using Google on anything/anyone who sounds even the least bit questionable. I'm ready to fight and hopefully see these people end up behind bars where they belong!
