This phone number is for a company called Progressive Business Publications. They send "free" publications on a trial basis that have never been ordered or received. The invoice looks legitimate. It even has a name of someone in your organization. They claim faxes have been sent and multiple invoices.

When payment isn't received they turn the bill over to a fraudulent collection agency, International Credit Recovery, who begins harassing and threatening phone calls.

They always call asking for my boss (the vp of the company) and when I asked for their information they dont want to leave it and .....sorry whoevers calling! but your going to be talking to me every time you ask for him! if you dont want to leave your info.....then youll never be able to get thru.......THATS WHAT RECEPTIONISTS ARE FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a legitimate company selling trade newsletters and related magazines.  We receive HR newsletters through them, unfortunately the downfall is once they do have your name, they relentlessly want you to sign up for other newsletters and do offer trial subscriptions.  However, if you paid attention and listened to the representative, they are only verifying your address and do inform you that you can cancel once the trial is up and you do not get billed for it again.  The representatives are helpful and friendly, if only you let them.  You don't have to get the trial, just politely tell them no...come on people, not every phone call you receive is a scam!

BS- they are setting you up for International Credit Recovery to try to bully you into paying for items not recieved - or ordered- at $299.00

If you had, you would have found that it is impossible. The phone number provided is an automated system that only leads to VM where you have to leave a message which they say they never got.
There is no phone number on any of the invoices either. That right there is shady. The e-mail address just bounces back messages as well.

The caller asked for someone who wasn't here.  I repeated the name and caller said, "yeah".  I said I would try to look up that name and was hung up on, in the middle of my sentence. Very rude!! Won't answer this number, again!  Of course they don't have to be polite, because after seeing the other posts, you can't e-mail them or call them back. Great company!

The lady was named TAra saying she is calling from CFOD but caller ID was Progressive Bus.  She sounded very rude. I had a feeling she was a scam, so I placed her on hold and she eventually hung up.  That's my latest thing, I usually place them on hold til they hang up. Don't have time to talk to them, they don't want to hear much else.

recieved a call from a company called "IT management daily" and they wanted to send me a PDF and have ti opened imeaditly so that i could validate the number of pages.  this is a total scam and I would wager that the PDF is totally infected with stuff.

Caller ID says "Progressive" woman calling says she is Sandy from CFOD.  Put right into someone's voicemail.

I'm with you Annoyed Assistant. They are so relentless and sound so miserable.  We are the gate keepers.

Same thing as above.  Caller said he was Joel from IT Manager Daily but the caller ID said Progressive.  He couldn't pronounce the name of the person he was asking for and when I asked him to repeat it he made the same mistake.  So I told him that no one by that name works here.  He then asked for "the person in charge of" - that is always a clue so I told him I needed a name or what did he want.  Then he wanted me to verify information.  I told him that I am not allowed to give out any information and hung up.  I always research calls of this kind.  Next time he will be put on hold.

Man called and stated he was Joel from CFO and wanted to speak to the VP of Finance. He called 4 times after that, as I said I could not hear him well. Then the fourth time he called, he said "you CU#T"  "did you hear that, you cu#t"... He did not want to give me any information and was rude. Not to mention nasty !

A guy named Joel- called from this phone number. Asks for my boss. I say I cannot put him through. Ask for the company name he says "it's CFO". (BTW the caller ID says Progressive) Says this is regarding 2016 sales tax.  Whatever. SCAM!
