- ConcernedThe caller first e-mailed me stating he is attorney Roy Brown and the police will pick me up if I don't pay a loan originally for $430.00 that is now $799.00. They have my SS# and name and an old address and phone#. I don't have any outstanding loan, they got my information from an old payday loan that is paid. The caller called today stating to call back immediately so that my file can be deleted. I will not call back or e-mail and hope this harrassment will stop.
- CindyI have received numerous calls from a gentleman saying that he is Attorney Roy Brown and he has important information regarding myself and also about people in my life. I was not as fortunate as I did send him one payment but I guarantee that he will never receive another payment of mine and he also stated that I would be taken to court and so on and so on. I have been receiving a lot of calls regarding payments for various past due bills. Please make them stop!!!!!!!
- 2CreativeOK, I got an email and multiple phone calls from "Attorney Roy Brown". Unfortunately for him, I have had multiple scammers calling my cell phone since I got it. I think iot started from whoever the previous owner of the phone number, but I once made the mistake of giving them my name and then they suddenly "converted" the scam to me.
This one is different, though; they do not have a middle eastern accent--in fact they sound very "American". But the first thing I did was google their alleged company name and address they gave me. The phone number is from a Minnesota area code, bu the address they gave me was in Florida. I then googled the Florida address and it belonged to a mortgage broker firm. I called the mortgage broker firm, and they verified that was indeed their address, but they have never heard of FFR Associates or Attorney Roy Brown. I advised them that scam artists are using their address, and they were shocked to hear it...and then they also told me that it isn't even an office, it is just their company's UPS mailbox.
The next time "Roy Brown" called me, I laid it all out...the fictitious address, area code discrepancy and everything. Roy Brown tried to argue about it, but I simply told him, "Look, you're busted. I busted you--this is a scam, and I seriously doubt your boss wants you wasting your time on someone you will never get a red cent from. So if you want to stay in the good graces of your employer, I suggest you remove my number and move on to someone else you might have better luck with." He responded (GET THIS!), "OK, fair enough, we will not call you anymore."
And they haven't! I haven't heard a peep from them since!- Caller: FFR Associates
- erica| 1 replyI was first also emailed that I owe money on a payday loan from 2009 that was in the amount of $350 and now I supposedly owe $1000 dollars. He said that I would get charged and locked up for theft and fraud. The guy stated in the email that he was an attorney and his name was Roy Brown. I automatically knew that this was a scam so the first thing I did was call my police department and they verified that YES this is a SCAM. I wasn't done though because this person whoever he or they are has all of my private information so I reported to the FBI and the Internet Scam . But I'm still kind of afraid so I Google the address, found out the real business at the address, and I talked to the person who told me the proper steps to handle the situation. Get this though the address was the attorney generals office in st. Paul, Minnesota can you say that these people are brave. I honestly wouldn't send them a brown penny and report if they are trying to contact you. such as myself.

- HeatherI just got the exact same thing today! I got an email from this Attorney Roy Brown stating that I owed $1000 for a payday loan from 2009 that was originally $350. The part that I found to be really funny is that the bank information they supposedly had deposited this money into is a prepaid payroll card that I used for my old job and not a bank account. What I did was emailed back and told them not to contact me again. I dont like that they have my personal info but I dont really know what to do to report them. Can anyone help me out???

- AshleyI got an email this morning for the same thing. It's an old payday loan that has been paid in full and it gives my old address. I knew it was a scam right away because it claimed to be from a lawyer, yet was very unprofessionally written with lots of errors. I looked it up with the Better Business Bureau and sure enough, there is an official warning from the Minnesota Attorney General's office that this is a scam and to report to Minnesota Fraud Enforcement 1-866-347-0911. Make sure you report it!

- Lisa Griggs replies to ericaI to just recently received an e-mail from Attorney Roy Brown with a middle eastern ascent on a Payday loan of 350.00 dollars stating that the total amount now is 690.00 dollars. The e-mail gave me an explanation of my allegations and they are
1. violation of federal banking regulations.
2. collateral check fraud.
3. theft by deception.
I did in fact have to loans out in 2010 and I did default on them but both loans were paid in full on 1-26-11 and the other on 2-15-11 and I have my bank statements proofing that they got their money. - Eddie E. - Rodney Yates| 1 replyI received an e-mail from Roy Brown (Iwill not justify calling a scam artist "attorney"). In this e-mail (which looked very legit) he had all of my information; that is scary enough! He also was quite explicit on the charges that were being set on me and the consequences that would follow if I did not have my attorney contact immediatley. In stead of bothering my attorney I contacted my bank and they have no problem submitting said evidence into court showing that a $350.00 deposit was ever made to my account on or about the date specified in the e-mail.

- Angel replies to Rodney YatesThis predator also contacted me via email and I out of my normal discernment, fell victim to this and wired $350 by money gram to a Mia Bier in Minnesota. I have done moneygrams before and have always done it to a company name with a receive code. I can't imagine why this didn't raise a second flag with me. I had a loan with the company that he is posing as "Arrowhead Investments" in the past but am not able to locate documentation that I paid off the loan. Also my I fell short of my normal vices to "thoroughly check out" the name he's using Attorney Roy Brown. The address is fictious and now the mail (A Gmail account) is not disabled. I have gone to the police in my city and have been informed that I must alert the authorities in Minnesota which I am doing by postal mail as soon as I gather all of my paper documentation. I am also putting a FRAUD ALERT on all 3 of my credit reports.
Anyone else out there, do your homework thorougly if you can't remember if you've paid a creditor off. Dont' be fooled by the hype of a fictious email with CHARGES threatening your arrest. That's what got me and now I have to put aside my embarrassment to protect my good name.
Miss in Dallas, Texas - abi| 2 repliesi just got the email also , how can we solve all of this
the email i got scare me but look at the name patric brown 1400 bremer tower 445 minesota street, st paul, mn. 55101-2131 phone number 612 235 6132 - NellieThis is a scam, don't send them money and report it immediately.
- ThomasI just received this email yesterday. I did have a couple of loans that I defaulted on about a year and a half ago, but I paid them all in full at one time. The email is exactly the same as everyone above is stating, but mine says it is Attorney Patric Brown. That is right, PATRIC. Same address and everything. It is definitely a scam. How can I report this?
- Terry T| 1 replyI have been hearing from the so called "people" for years. At first they had me worried. Then I started looking into every phone # the called from. I filed complaints with the attorney general offices of each area code the calls came from. I contacted the FBI etc. I think these are pay as you go phones they are using and that they for the most part are calling from out of the country. They are all foreiners. It would be very nice if they could be caught. It is all a scam. I have been getting calls for about 3 years now. They come and go.
Just ignore them and keep filing those complaints with the Attorney General offices when they do call. I have even gone as far as emailing them the information about their scam to them.
FBI says ignore them so that is just what I plan on doing!!
Hope this helps.- Caller: Attorney Patric Brown
