We've recieved calls from this number to our offices, caller hangs up when phone is answered.

Our office is locted in Calgary, Ab., and we rec'd a call from this nmb however the individual claimed he was with the CAF in Afghanistan. Can anyone verify this? Of course when the nmb is dialed the recording comes on "cannot be completed as dialed". Is it not common knowledge that the prefix "555" doesn't exist. Who knows maybe it is the military...

It is the morale phone from troops deployed anywhere in the world its a centralized call system that only makes outgoing calls so the 555-0000 is to prevent incoming calls.. I believe the call system in in ottawa and is administered by global connect.

This is military number :) It may be some of your friends calling you and it shows you "general" number, but you need to know prober number to call back

I feel chep i dint answer the phone when i say the mun. 613 555 0000 i thouth it was a fraud, they try sevral time and i finly answer it was my son in Afghanistan. What a stupid phone num. for oure troop.

Who calls me from that number?

It is a long distance phone service, much like "10-10-321" and the likes, not necessarily just military/overseas calls. We're in Ontario, Canada and my parents use that service to make long distance calls from their cottage.

It is a long-distance provider outgoing phone number. You cannot call back to this number. I think it is Distributel.

This number and "Ontario" appears on the CID

This number 613-555-0000 and "Ontario" appears on CID whenever my husband's mother calls him from Ontario. It used to display the actual number, but not anymore. When I get calls from  Nova Scotia it shows the actual number.
