I received 2 calls from this number on November 3, 2015. Both time, I heard a synthetic voice claiming that it was the accounting department of the C.R.A. and that there was a problem with my "tax." The voice said that I was hiding something from the Federal government and that I had to call the number it gave immediately to straighten this out.

Naturally, I didn't call the first time and the answering machine took the second call. This is obviously a scam since Revenue Canada NEVER calls people but sends a letter through the mail. The sad thing is that many seniors could be fooled by this voice which sounds official. I know the difference since I use text-to-speech programs daily. Warn friends, particularly elderly ones, not to fall for this scam.

I received a call from a machine that said it was the federal gov and to call them back as soon as I received this message. I didn't, I googled the number 613 707 2825 and saw what this number was, therefore this post.

I received two calls fromthis number. Automated voice message. It is a fraud claims it to be from the tax department. DO NOT RETURN THEIR CALL.

Apparently its a Western Union Scam also!!

A scam caller (a computer recorded message) claiming he is from the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) and that he is investigating a tax evasion case related to my household (didn't specify any names though). Requested my household to call back the same number. This kind of scams have been reported on the news lately and they usually ask the victims to deposit a certain amount of money into a specific bank account in order to settle the case. Sounds kind of dumb but unfortunately a lot of victims fell into it though. It is a very popular scam in Asia and seems like it's spreading to North America now.

I received this fraud call as well - claiming I was 'hiding' something from the government and to call back.

I have got the same call twice. Please be aware this a fraud and DO NOT call them back. Anything related to your tax will be sent to you by legitimate mail.

I just got two calls from this # so I googled it and just as I suspected it is a scam.

I just got this call. Of course, I ignored it. But I have been on the phone three times to CRA this week regarding my mother's taxes. I thought - could someone out there know that I have been calling CRA and going onto their website? Surely not, but it seemed like a strange coincidence.

Phone them back at 1-613-707-2825 and ask them to remove you from their call list. Tell them at the same time that you're going to report them to the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission. Then report them to the CRTA here: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng (note that they only refer to themselves as CRA, not Canada Revenue Agency). Finally, register with the national do not call list. If enough people complain they'll shut down these fraudsters.

I got a call from this phone too

My grandmother received a call from this number this morning (November 6) and told me to urgently look into this matter as she was afraid there was follow up required regarding her taxes. As a senior this call caused her a great deal of unnecessary anxiety - I'm glad others started reporting this number!

Why is this number still in operation. Because the fraudster is requesting a callback, it is clearly not a spoofed number so the police should be able to trace the perpetrator and shut it down immediately.
My wife's brother is critically ill,he has been in intensive care for the last few days. When were woken up at 6:15am by a telephone call this morning, not reaching the phone in time to answer, she was absolutely shaking when she checked the voice mail a few minutes later, only to find it was this fraudulent message.

Je viens de recevoir un appel de ce numéro, en anglais aussi et à propos de fraude avec l'impôt. Bizarre quand même qu'ils ne tentent même pas de parler à la personne qui répond, et que le numéro à rappeler soit bien le numéro qui est affiché. Si on écoute jusqu'à la fin il y a une douce voix féminine enregistrée qui dit Goodbye, système vocal automatique. Sans doute un genre d'étude pour compter les poissons qui mordent je suppose :)

J'ai reçu un tel appel le 20 novembre 2015. J'étais absent, mais mon répondeur a en registré le message..un message très
insistant, mais pas inquiétant parce que de plus en plus souvent on nous offre des tactiques frauduleuses de ce genre.
Mon système téléphonique (Panasonic...pour ne pas le nommer) me permet de bloquer 30 numéros de téléphone indésirables. Ce dernier appel va rejoindre les autres.

In short, I received such a call on Nov. 20 2015. It was registered on my answering machine. My Panasonic system allows me to block up to 30 undesirable phone numbers. This one is next on the list.
