Verizon Wireless billing Dept.

I continue to receive phone calls stating that there is a mix up on my phone number and it states that I am someone else. This sounds fishy since there is no reason for Verizon to be calling me about my Straight Talk phone number--stating that it belongs to another Verizon customer, for whom I have not received any wrong calls. Can anyone tell me what this is about? Is this a real Verizon issue or is this a scam?

I received calls from this number saying that they are from Verizon n tried to reach someone whom I don't know about his bill.  Call back n enter my phone when prompted.  BUt it said my number wad not recognized.  Since then,  I have been receiving calls from different 800 numbers.   Some of them said that I won $500 from Verizon.  I haven't with Verizon for 3 years n no point that they need to contact me.  It got to be scam!

Received a call today. No message. Followed by a text message:  "Free msg: Verizon Wireless needs to speak with you in the next 24 hours. Please call us at 800-249-2462."

So this number keeps calling me between 6 and 6:30 pm midwestern time. Claiming that my verizon bill is late and that they need to speak with Jason. Mind you I am female, I own my cell phone number and I have never been a verizon customer. And to get them to stop calling they insisted I give up my own information (to which I refused.) The funny thing is the "verizon" lady I spoke to sounds exactly like the lady who said this Jason guy won a shopping spree and since it was the phone number I could give them a few bits of info and I'd have $1,000 shopping spree. Clearly the same lady and definitely both are scams. Don't give them any information. Oh and when she wanted to find out which number was no longer "jason's" she kept asking me for my number stating that her computer was down. Mind you in the background it sounded like she was walking to her car I even heard the car door beep before she shut it. Absolutely a scam!!! BEWARE!!!

It's a complete scam It's not really verizon they pretend to be to get your information. If you are a verizon customer, use the official numbers not this random number. I think (from what others have told me that use verizon) the number you would want to use is 611..

It is a complete scam. A way to fish information from you. I keep getting calls from this number too. Don't even give your name to them, tell them they have the wrong number. If they say their computer is down, just hang up on them. They use every moment to get information even the phone number you called on! If you can, try blocking the number.

614-360-9213 actually is from Verizon. The call seemed suspicious to me. They called me with an automated system and when I got through to a live human, she didn't know why I had been called. Afterward, I called Verizon through *611 to check out this number. The customer service rep was not able to confirm that number was from Verizon, but she found notes from their financial office that had just been entered a few minutes before I called her. The only explanation is that it actually was their financial office that called me.

In my case, I think this number used to belong to someone else (I have been getting calls and texts for her constantly) who has an overdue payment. I think that's the number of their collections department.

Regardless, if something seems off, always err on the side of caution.

Sham alert fake "verizon wireles" don't call the 800 number stated.

When doing a reverse check on this number it comes up as a phone number belonging to a person in Columbus Ohio.
I do not answer it at all as I do not answer any number I do not recognize.
However, this number calls constantly and leaves no message.
Look it up, there is a person's name attached to this and it is not a company.

Phony as a 3 cent coin. Number came up belonging to Gates Cherro....foolishly put in Verizon number. Do not give info for when you call back and they want phone number and then it is not found.

Just got a call.. says it came from Cherokee Gates... didn't answer it and don't plan to.

Just got the call.  I Googled it and it says it from a Felicia Davis for an important message in the next 24 hours

Have called me 5 times in last 2 days-looking for a Jose Silva-not my name -don't know him;
now calling from a 513-729-6051 number-with same message!

This number called asking for someone that apparently had this number before I got this phone. Automated message with a notice to wait for a representative. I hung up.

Constantly getting calls from different numbers, claiming to be Verizon. Just received a call from this number and after I didn't answer- I received a text stating Verizon needed to get in touch with me within the next 24 hours to pay an overdue bill. No one else in the family receives these calls, and I am not even the account holder for our service.... seems fishy to me, especially when I check my account through the Verizon app on my phone just to make sure it is up-to-date- and it always is. Seems like a scam to me. Next time, I WILL answer and then report it to Verizon.

This is Verizon, It is not a Scam... They are Calling cause you are late on your phonebill payment.. If you pay it they will stop calling..

May not be a scam but it is miss leading one they need to reach me they can do so on my Verizon number not my land line which was never given to them. Two my bill is up to date and they truly have no reason to be calling what so ever.
