When I answered the hung up.  I called it back and got a recording that my call might be monitered or recorded.  It then instructed me to dial my party's number of hold for the next agent.  Then it disconnected me.  I tried 3x..same thing every time.

This number is NOT a charity. These people get numbers from craigslist, and will call you for a variety of reasons ( aka SCAMS). If you see this number, do NOT answer the phone. If they determine this is an active number, they will never stop calling.

It is best to let it go to voicemail.

Its now trying to collect for TEK-COLLECT, INC. out of Columbus, OH. There is also an 800# with this company its 800.617.4933

It called my restreicted phone number and keeps calling I will file criminal charges Iam the wrong person.

they called my dad claiming to be a collection company from Ohio asking for me - tricked him well enough because when he said he was my father is when they said they couldn't talk any more and hung up.  He then took the initiative to write down the # from caller ID for me to call thinking I actually had credit trouble.  When I called I got the same thing everyone else has - the auto message about monitoring the call and a hangup.

I got a call and I didnt hear my cell ring however it did go to voicemail and they didnt even leave a message. It was just a bunch of noise.

I got a call from this number 3 times in the last two days.  When I answer no one says anything.  I haven't tried to call the number back, but I wish they would stop calling!  So annoying!

I got this call several times. I have started to simply not answer, but the call goes to voicemail. The same recording ls left each time; though it sounds like there is someone waiting to say something, it is an electronic recording where the background nois is exactly the same every time.

Same thing here.  We got a new number from Safelink/Tracphone about a week ago.  Whoever had the number before us apparently owed everyone.  I'm getting calls from at least 5 different collection companies and this number as well.  Grrr.  I tried calling back 3 times.  There is a message about recording the call, enter the extension, then someone picks up and hangs up.

Thats what they go hear from me airytime they call me... Sorry [***]. Wrong#!! [***]'em!

KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER, BUT NO ONE ON THE OTHER END WHEN I TRY TO ANWSER IT JUST STATIC. NOT SURE WHY I AM GETTING THESE CALLS BUT WSH IT WOULD STOP.

2 calls from this number so far and the last was at 8:27pm and no one on the other end...Wish they would get a life and stop bugging people!!!!

pretty sure this is a collection agency… they asked for MICHAEL, which is my name, but I never go by Michael, so I knew it was a collection call…. told them they had the wrong number and asked who they were, they said they were TCI…which appears to be a lie! humph!

I get calls from the exact same number. When I answer no one says anything just noise.

Same as everyone.  Called me, I answered, they hung up.  So far just once but just warning.

I got a call from them, I didn't answer because I was at work! but I have called back 4 times and put my phone on mute, they person on the other end says a short company name but I can not understand what name he is saying! I then hang up!!!!

I got a call form  the 614 441 4770 i knew right off it was a funny number when i answered said hello this is Jake for State Farm and they hung up then i added then to my call block list

my girl friend had my phone for the past week and i had hers, they tried calling my phone asking for me and my gf  told them i wasnt around and asked to take a message and who they were all they told her is that it dosent matter and hung up then every so offten they would call again and do the same thing.. and so i come home for the weekendand they call me today and so i answerd and im guessing they were expecting a females voice but when they heard mine they hung up and i caled them back about 3 times and they declined my call everytime... (if this dont stop im going to get the law involved)  

Everytime I answer no one says anything.  They never leave messages.

Tek Collect IS a legitimate collection agency. If they are calling your number and you don't owe a debt, you may have been a reference on someone else's loan application. I know of several colleges who use this collection agency--although they may not be calling your number specifically on behalf of a college, I'm not sure who all uses this agency.

If you aren't the debtor and you are being called in error, just let the company know and they can remove your number from whomever's file it is associated with.
