Called my cell and work number.  It's collections

Bought a prepaid cell phone and have no idea why these people are calling me.  I have owned cell phone for approx. 3 weeks.  Have not given number to anyone other than wife and son - that's it!  I don't owe anyone anything so cannot imagine why or how they got this number.

The caller next for one of my daughters. Asked could I get a message to her I told are no and she just said interesting.

I just received a call from them at my job. It was a recording that had already started when I answered. It said to call 888-277-9255

This number has recently started calling my cell phone,and I have had this number for 2 years.I have not given my number to any business,and I am not behind on any of my bills.

I have recently started receiving calls from this number on my cell phone.I have had this number for 2 years and the recording will only say it is about a debt,sorry it is not me.I have NO bills that are behind.

Received call several times over a couple of weeks. When answered a recorded message would begin informing me that this was an attempt to collect a debt. I listened to the whole message once after they'd called for two weeks. It does not give a name for th person they are looking for, merely a vague reference to debt and a # to call back. I never called that # because I don't have any bills that are behind and I didn't want to encourage them. I haven't received a call from them in about a week now.

This number calls my phone EVERY SINGLE DAY...ALL DAY LONG!  It's driving me NUTS!  When I answered the call the first time, a recording played...telling me to call some other number about a debt.  The debt was from almost TEN yrs. ago!  I don't even owe it anymore!  What a joke!  The other ten-million times they've called, I just let it ring...but even that is getting tiresome now.  They keep messing my voicemail up with stupid recordings, and interrupting my conversations (call-waiting).  I just wish I knew how to make these jerks stop calling my home!

they keep on calling the  wrong number

they keep calling and if you pick up its a recording for payment america wanting you to call them but do not say who they want to talk to or if you dont answer they wont leave a message! driving me crazy since i get wrong numbers all the time on this number (used to be a hotel) and im not behind on any bills but dont want to just call a number and get some weird charge on my phone

Ok all its simple answer the phone!  I owed a debt with them and had a collector calling me but it stoped after i made payments...... If ya owe it pay it!  If it is a wrong number answer the phone and tell them.. cause they will not know unless you answer the phone and talk to you...For the person that said they dont owe cause it is 10 years there is a statue of limitation but it does'nt excuse not paying your debts if you owe it plus it will hack away at your credit. Hope you dont ever want to buy a house or a car in the future. They will stop calling you if you pay on the bill month to month. Prob solved!

Nope... not true.  I owe them a small amount and I'm paying them a small amount, but they frequently call me (the recording) and send me letters telling me one day, we're glad you're taking care of this, and the next day tell me my payment isn't good enough. If they keep it up, I'll hire an attorney to go after them for unfair debt collection practices.

i find it easier to just sit there, answer the phone; and turn my stereo up to 80 decibels and start screaming WHAT I CAN'T HEAR U. also works to just answer the phone and put it down and walk away for 5 min.

They asked for a person.  I, in turn, asked who they were.  They refused to identify themselves, so I refused to identify myself.      :)

Debt collectors become very predatory when they have purchased old collection accounts. They trying against all odds to recoup any potential money that May be owed..

The only person/company you may owe is the orignal creditor who has provided services.

They call my nine year old magic jack number ... Left a twenty four min vm....

They called me about a "debt" that I do not owe. I went to the hospital, had radiology work, and paid through tricare. The hospital was not paid to their liking (speed wise, it took two weeks for the paperwork to go through) and sent a separate bill to collections -a NEW bill- without notifying me or tricare first.

One year later I received a call from a different agency (not this one) and tricare refused to pay because of failure to file and threatened to sue if they attempted to collect as it is now considered harassment. This first collection company sold my "debt" to Payment America. So be warned, the collection agencies are inter-selling to avoid prosecution for wrongful debt.

No message left but caller Id says Payment America. Im going to block the call because I have no bussiness dealings with a Payment America.
