If the number looks like a Tennessee or Kentucky area code, this is a SCAM. Bottom line: Do NOT answer a call from a number that you don't know. VW does NOT have the technology yet to block numbers. You just have to cope. Don't answer the call!!

Verizon callin folks for past due collection

they just randomly called me today

called me a few weeks ago. i don't think i answered it, i can't remember and i haven't talked to anyone from verizon. if your bill is past due verizon will send you a free text. or if you try to make a call, it won't go through. i've never had a phone call for past due payment.

I'm getting these phone calls now, too.

I'm calling the police tomorrow to let them know about this, it seems like it is an identity theft scam or something like that. It's ridiculous to get two phone calls a day from these guys, and Verizon isn't doing anything about it.

It's Verizon Wireless collecting money. My cousin was on our plan and racked up a 1000 bill. They call frequently. Even if you are the primary phone number. No need to call the police. Just pay the bill, or continue to ignore them. They keep calling me asking for my mom. They don't understand that I can't hand my mom the phone since I live three hours away from her. They harrass you a lot but then again, you owe them a lot of money... why would they be nice about it?

This is an identity theft scam. If you gave them any information I suggest you report it to the police and/or Verizon.

If Verizon, why not leave a polite message regarding a past due amount? Not just hang up and keep "one of their customer's wondering" poor business practice if you ask me....

This number calls me periodically BUT I havent answered it ... my phone bill is NOT past due!

They asked for the last 4 digits of my social security number... obviously this is a scam.

I called Verizon myself to find out if was them and I was told:
                             "We have not called you."  

I advised them of the phone number and how the person claimed to be with Verizon Wireless looking for a payment over the phone (which I didn't do, thank goodness!). The Verizon rep said:
                          "Continue to ignore that number."

Call Verizon yourself - I did not have a past balance. As a matter of fact, I had just paid my bill not 4 days prior to the calls starting.
