- Ash| 2 repliesI just got these calls after I placed a quote request for new central air, maybe that's where they are getting info? I did not put any credit card info though. I am sure this is a scam of sorts but how do you get them to stop? I said take me off your list and they are still calling!
- JackieSame thing just happened to me 5 minutes ago, so I searched the number online and found this.
- JackieThey called again. They told me they were calling about my VISA card and told me the last four digits. (It was for my debit card. My bank switched from Mastercard to Visa. The last four digits were on the old mastercard. They weren't the last four on the new Visa as the person on the phone claimed) They told be I was a preferred customer and were sending me some package with $120 worth of gas vouchers and info about some discount program that they were giving me a free 30 day trial. All I had to pay was $4.95 S&H. If I didn't to be part of the program I just had to call them after 30 days and tell them a didn't want to be a part of it, BUT MAKE SURE YOU DON'T THROW AWAY YOU $120 GAS VOUCHERS. (They really stressed the vouchers) If I wanted to stay part of the program it was only $39.95 a month. I asked if I forget to call after the free trial period ends, will they automatically charge my card the $39.95. The woman's answer, "Well, we do expect you to call us and let us know if you want to be a part of it or not..." To wich I responed, "But if you don't hear from me, you'll assume I want to be part of the program?" What irritated me the most was they made it sound like my credit card company was sending me info and I didn't have a choice, but when they mixed up the last for digits of my credit card, I knew it was a total scam. Not to mention, when does you credit card company ever call you before they send you a bunch of junk mail?
- ktjust got of the phone with some one calling from this number. they told me the same thing they told Jackie. this is a scam. I don't have a credit card any more.
- SAEI ordered teeth whitening kits from South Beach Brite (the one you see ads for all over the internet "the mom who discovered the secret to whiter teeth." They offered the package with $120 worth of gas vouchers and info about some discount program that they were giving me a free 30 day trial (just like Jackie) to which I opted out of. They not only charged my debit card 4 times for $11.95 the next day - they are continuing to harass me at work and at home. I cancelled my debit card when I saw the charges come through and now they are wanting me to verify my new card information. HECK NO! My advise is to NEVER offer up your CC info. If they don't accept paypal, DON'T GET IT!!
- Fight BackGo to www.donotcall.gov and register your number(s) to be opt out completely. If they do call, you can report them and have them fined at $10k per call.
- 411You'd have to request that they stop calling, document the date and time before filing a complaint as well.
- angryis this company truly a scam? they called me when i was stressed out & busy and after telling them i was not interested about 5 times i finally gave in and just said fine, send it. i realized though that after we hung up the last 4 digits they had of my card are from an old debit card this is now closed...should i worry about this?
- CaitlynThis just happened to me about an hour ago... after six calls in the last two days, I finally answered the phone.. they told me the same story they told everyone else: I'm a preferred customer and they want to send me gas vouchers and a brochure about a new program. They mentioned a thirty day trial period for a program that would cost me $27 a month. The scary part was the woman knew my name, address and the correct last four digits of my debit card. I had a hard time understanding her because there was a lot of background noise/static. She eventually asked me to dial in my zip code and that it when I hung up.
After I hung up, I dialed the number back from a blocked number. The message machine said that it was a company used to varify online purchases...
Now let's just hope that nothing more comes from this... - SCAMJust hang up don't listen! THey just called me twice in a row. They also wanted to give me $120 gascard
- MaryThey just called me a few seconds ago, but I didn't pick up. I assumed it was maybe an employer calling me back about an application that I had turned in earlier last week when I saw the missed call. So I googled the number instead of calling it back hoping it would be on yellow pages or something of the like. Then I found this thread. I don't even have a credit card but I put my social on my applications...Do you think that could be where they are getting their information...?
- Liathey called and when I answered, no one talked, but they were still on the line.
- Morgan TagleottiThere was someone on the line but they did not speak.
- Gabriellathey keep calling me and as I haven't ordered anything as I keep a log on what I order I called back and got a message to comfirm my order. Then they called again I turned the phone on and she kept saying my name then got pissed as I didn't say anything. Back at you as I don't answer calls I don't reconize anymore due to this harrasment and I have logged in to discontinue all the scams etc. but as you can see the calls keep coming.
What are our rights as a person when these calls keep coming and people just say yes in the end to stop them and then get charged for something they don't want. Feel sorry for people who can't say no and fight back. If you keep getting thes ecalls press the # sign until they hang up the noise they hear is like a high pitch and after a while they stop. But don't give in fight back because they are ripping off the elderly who can't stand up to them or give them a phony card #. Fight back e mail doesn't work because I have done it twice and I still get these calls even although I have deleted my # from the bottom of the form on e mail. Press # until they hang up.it may take a while as some of these people will just hold on 45 mins was my longest time doing this but I never heard from them again. What jerks.- Caller: order comfirmation
- TammiThey've been calling me for the past few days and I finally answered. They said they had the last 4 digits of my MasterCard(debit card) and said that I was a preferred customer and they wanted to send me a $100 gift card to spend at any store. He said that he'd like me to call back and let them know how I liked the gift card. When he told me to hold so he could transfer me and verify my address I hung up.
- Florida PhilI searched "scam phone call" and found the site for the Federal Trade Commission. You can log a complaint there.
www.ftc.gov/phone fraud
Let's all do it. You also should alert your particular state's Atty Gen. You can get to that option from the smae site. - CyndiJust a few minutes ago I got a call on my work phone, and my private cell phone from these people. I didn't recognize the number, but since they called me on both phones I returned the call. I reached a recorded message that said they were calling to confirm my order, but didn't give the name of a company or any other information. There were options, one of which was to be put on their "no-call" list so I pushed that number and ended the call. I googled the number, because I was sure I hadn't ordered anything and because not having a company name on their phone message seemed very suspicious. I'm hoping that is the end of it.
- Caller: unknown
- tracyI got a call from the same number probably from MI,USA
- Caller: Junk..
- Jimappears to be a bogus company
- Call type: Prank
- torfiThey've been calling me for the past few days and I finally answered. They said they had the last 4 digits of my VisaCard(debit card) and said that I was a preferred customer and they wanted to send me a gift card to spend at any store. Fortunately the card wasn't active anymore after the bank switched them. They must have gotten a list of cancelled credit cards since many people seem to experience exactly the same scenario. This seems to be big scam.
