it's from tufts university asking for money (got the call today, i'm a tufts alum)

Tufts University looking for pledges.

Called today. Didn't answer because didn't recognize number, but after reading comments here, Tufts makes sense since we have connection to the school.

I also received a call from this number.  No message.  I have no affiliation with Tufts.

I am not an alumnae of Tufts, but I have brought my pet to the Tufts Veterinary Hospital so I assume that's why they are calling me for donations.

Unsolicited call from Tuffs scam artists. Just your ordinary telemarketer scum.

Morons called again. 4/8/2013 7:33pm. Comes up Massachus call?? They just don't get it.

They're not scum. This is my alma mater and there is nothing wrong with soliciting donations. Keep in mind that Tufts is a non-profit and performs important research and education.

"Shows Massachusetts call" morons keep calling. This time 5/2/2013 @ 7:13 PM. Let them call their alum.

It is Tufts, but don't give them a hard time.  They make the kids who get financial aid from the school do this to 'pay back' some of what they are granted for tuition.

It is Tufts development seeking donations. In addition to the benefits sited above, the college makes facilities open to the children of Medford and Somerville and students lend their time and energy.
If you don't want them to call block the call, put your name on the No Call list and, finally, tell the student on the line you want your name removed. If the student cannot carry the message, then ask for the supervisor.

No, it's Tufts asking for money, but it's no scam--they're one of the finest veterinary schools in the world, and they're asking for funds, that's all. They don't call willy-nilly; there must have been some connection with Tufts by the 'receiver' for them to contact you...

No, it's not scum, and not telemarketers. Legitimate fund-raising for Tufts University.

That may or may not interest you, but it's not scum and not the usual fraud-telemarketers.

I don't think its Tufts. My husband is an alum but I am not and they called my cell.

Please tell me: If this is indeed Tufts calling, why does my CID say UNKNOWN?
And why are they calling bright and early on a Sunday morning??? Most definitely
invasion of my peace and privacy.
Call block is a most wonderful invention, I use it on ALL UNKNOWN NUMBERS and
will continue to do so.

I got a call that Caller ID claimed to be from this number (the caller was listed only as "Boston MA").  The callers did not identify themselves.  My home phone number is on the Do Not Call List and has been for a long time.

I have no connection with Tufts (if this is them), except that once, many years ago, I took a cat to their Veterinary School.

I et the call go to voice mail -- no message -- and then came here to look up the number.  I lsubscribe to Tufts' Catnip newsletter and I presume they are calling to discuss the subscription or to fund-raise.  They're a fine organization and I have no problem with the call.

young-sounding female said she was from tufts veterinary school.  sounded like a solicitation call.  I brought my dog to Tufts about 6 months ago.  I was busy and cut her off -- this site is helpful!  now I know I don't have to call her back!

Remember Tufts is a non-proft............with a giant multi billion dollar endowment.   Every college is in the same boat.
