I have recieved 2 phone calls on my home phone number from this number.  On one occasion, I picked up and said hello and no one said anything back but stayed on the line, so I hung up.

Received a call from this number on my cell phone.  No one was on the other end.  I attempted to return the call but was unable.

I just got a call from this number on my home phone and the caller ID said "local paper".  I did not answer the call.

I have recieved several calls from this number and I have not answered because I don't answer calls I don't know.

I recieved a call from this number. they asked to speak to my boyfriend whom our number is listed under. I asked who is was and when i said that we dont take solicited calls they guy had the audacity to say, "Then why do you answer your phone?". At that point I asked to speak to his supervisor and he hung up on me.

I received a call from the number today. I did not answer, then I googled the number. It seems to be a popular strategy these days. Companies are calling random numbers, and if someone answers then they sell that number out as a working number. I tried to call this number back and I get either a busy signal or silence.

This jerk keeps calling over and over. I will do everything possible to screw them.

The caller ID "Local Paper" is fraudulent. If they were the local paper, then they are trying to break the law and make an unsolicited sales call despite the don't call registry. I reported them to donotcall.gov. I suggest you all do the same, or you are in for a long stretch of "LOCAL PAPER" calls, day and night.

The phone calls are from the Boston Herald.  Someone was finally on the other line after 50+ phone calls.  The guy had the audacity to tell me it was my fault because I wasn't answering my phone quickly enough.

I answered the phone they were looking for my room mate who the phone is listed under. I asked is a telemarketer? They said no Im just looking for__________ I said do not call this number (which when I worked for a telemarketer was the line that was needed to put someone on the no call list) He had the nerve to say I will call tomarrow. Has anyone reported them to the FCC?

Someone from this phone number has called numerous time at my home and at my business. After several calls from them I decided to answer the call and request that I be put on their "DO NOT CALL" list, but when I answered the call I said hello several times and there was no response, I could hear someone on the other end, but there was no response. I am fed up with having to stop my work to answer calls like this.

Same thing this am.  I answered our business line and there was background noise, but noone said anything.  I put the phone down but they hung on until it automatically released the line.  [***]!  :)

I get calls on my cellphone from this number daily, sometimes even two or three times.  When I answer (fairly quickly, I might add), no one says anything, they just hang up!  Finally, I just answered the phone and yelled, "STOP CALLING THIS NUMBER!!", and the woman on the other end said, "Only if you ask nicely", then she hung up!! I am in the process of filing a complaint with FCC right now.  I do remember a year ago, I got a call from a similar number, and they were looking for a donation for firefighters and police union.  They are NOT affiliated with the firefighters OR police....so do not give anything to them!!!

Stop calling my house.  I am on a do not call list and apparently this caller doesn't understand what do not call means.  STOP CALLING MY NUMBER!!

they call daily but when I called back, the recording just kept repeating "thank you for holding.  your call is important to us.  please remain on the line and your call will be answered by the next available representative.  if you would like to leave a message in our mailbox, please press 9 now."

The phone id said local paper- unbelievably rude-told me I shouldn't answer a question with a question- when I asked who was calling- then hung up- I am going to look into reporting them- I have received 8-9 calls already in the past month-the guy was creepy!

We keep getting this call 2-3 times/day.  It's been happening for about 3 weeks now.  No one answers but you hear background noise.  Caller ID says local paper.  We are on Do Not Call list.

I thought I was the only one that got a call from them. I kept calling them back but no one answered.

I contacted the metrowest daily news subscriber line at 888-MY-PAPER since we used to subscribe to that paper.  I was told that the call was coming from them and they said that they would remove our number from their list.  Hopefully that will work.
