Just called me at 10:30 am central time on my cell phone. Didn't leave a voice mail.

They called, never talked. I believe they where trying to know if there was someone at my number, as I  lately have been receiving incessant calls from an 800 numbers (which I did not answer).

Calling to sell a home security system. When I asked where they got my number from, they said they got it from 949-486-7598. (Haven't called it ... I'm sure it's a wrong/disconnected number.)

I received a call from this number today, no message was left...yesterday I received another anonymous call from another number, 3395026695.  After researching both numbers on this website, I found out that both of them are hawking some kind of alarm system....hmmm....

This company calls claiming to be ADT calling to offer free home security systems.

The call is placed automatically with a robo-dialer, and in my case is placed to a mobile device, which is illegal.

Then there is no operator on the phone when you answer, just a recorded message. This is also illegal.

When you finally get to a human, they claim to be "Home Security Center" and "ADT."

They will give you their phone number as 949 486 7598. Unfortunately, that number has been disconnected. Telemarketers providing false information is also illegal.

this is the second call from this scam in the last 24 hours - to my cell phone. Their "manager" claims that I am on their list as a home owner who has expressed interest in home security systems. I am not a home owner, and never have been. I do not have an interest in home security systems at this point, and will, thanks to this call, never have an interest in home security systems from ADT.

Just received a call from this #.  Called back and received a message, "if you would to be placed on the do not call list, press 1."

just called me at 1:54pm 4/30/10--I was busy on my home phone, did not answer this call, on my cell phone.. and no VM left--glad I did not answer, glad I googled the # and found this

I received three calls from 617-778-7147 on the 27th of April at 1:09 PM.  By the third I answered the call and responded with a 1 that I was interested in scheduling an appointment for a security system in my home.  A man answered then and as soon as I mentioned this number is a member of the national Do Not Call Registry, he hung up on me.  On the 27th of April I called the 617-778-7147 number and the only option you have is to press 1 if you wish to be taken off their list.  I pressed 1 and they don't ask for your number, just tell you it will take 24 hours to be removed.  Here I am on the 4th of May and I'm receiving calls from them again.  This time I pressed 1 and received a young lady.  When I asked to speak with a manager, she hung up.

They say they are The Home Security Center.  Any company that goes to such lengths to hide who they are and won't abide by Federal FCC laws is not a company to trust.  I filed a complaint with the FCC at www.fcc.gov and I suggest you do the same.  Only when the FCC receives a number of complaints on the same number will they investigate and fine the company, but the fines start at $5K per provable incident and it adds up quickly.
