Called twice no message .
Bothering me .

Got a call from 618-855-0185 this morning! Caller ID said Illinois Police. Knew it was BS but wanted to answer and just give them a hard time! He said his name was Keith Daugherty! Wanted to know if he mailed me an envelope if I would donate money! Told him absolutely not! Goes on about they have other options about donating! I finally hung up!

Just received call from 618-855-0185 where Caller ID said it was Illinois Police.  When I answered, man said he was collecting money for death benefits of killed police (for their children)!  When I insisted they mail me an envelope for donations with explanation and for me to review, and I would NOT give any info over the phone, they hung up.  BAM...SPAM  Out of curiosity I tried calling the number back immediately and it was disconnected!  Watch out for this one...they want your credit card info and/or bank info...just hang up!

Didnt answer i fiquared it was probably a sacmmer callin rejected bumber.

Called we hung up they called again.Very bothersome for senior citizens

I received a call earlier today.  When I saw Illinois Police on the caller ID, I called back and the number was disconnected.

The voice sounded funny, like a recording: "Hi this is Keith Daugherty with the IL Police." I asked if it was a robot or a person and the line was disconnected. Gee, I guess they weren't legit enough to say.

Got a call from 618-855-0185 just now. Caller ID said Illinois Police. Did not pick up the phone.

I got several calls from this number. Not surprising to see it so thoroughly discussed here.

Got a call from this number minutes ago...I did not answer...caller ID says IL State Police...clearly bogus...

Good grief.  I got the same call as everyone above and didn't answer it either.  I would think that the actual police would want to hunt these people down.

at 11:46am on 4/30/2016 I recieved a call from 618-855-0185 to my home number. the called ID reported "Illinois Police"
my call blocker on that line filtered the call and disconnected it.
not knowing if it was a legit call, I looked the number up on the internet and found this blog.
so I  am reporting it here.

Also got IL Police on caller id and silence on other end til they hang up. It's just some loser with nothing better to do. Btw, all these names sound familiar. It's quite possible we all know this [***].

Got a call Saturday at 11:20.  Didn't pick up. We never do unless we recognize who it is which is really rare. Usually not worth the effort to answer that's why I'm lazy gramma.  Figure if they really need us they will leave a message. This did click into our voice mail but could only hear what sounded like a tape recorder winding then disconnect.  So probably a robot? Wish I could block numbers like on my cell phone!

I have a wider caller ID field and it's reported as illinois police associataion [which is an actual charity, sort of like backstoppers, but for the IL state police].  No, I didn't give them a donation - I do give to backstoppers though, in person, at their fund raisers.  I recommend that no one EVER give money or any information to someone who calls YOU.

This is sad .I did agree to mail a donation . They just ask my name and mailing address .Our officers risk their lives out there every day . I know there are so many scams out there today and its sick to use this as an excuse to scam folks.I decided to google the number and here i am.All i can say is shame on all of the scammers out there .This number will be blocked from now on.

caller id says Illinois Police but guess what...Alton IL police said it's a scam
