Received a call from this number on Monday and the caller sounded Arabic or Indian with the name Scott Williams from Jefferson and Davenport Associates.  They stated that I owed $1200.00 and if I did not pay, I would be served papers to appear in court in 3 days.  After the initial freak-out, I did a little research on the payday loan company that he is "apparently" been hired by and found no information what so ever on the internet and I was also unable to verify the existance of Jefferson and Davenport Associates except on this website.  Also after doing a reverse number look-up, the two numbers that he called from were from two separate counties in California (Los Angles County and San Diego County.)  I called my attorney and she recommended that I file a police report which will be done today.

got a call from them as well.  sounded like a call I got about a year ago on something similar to yours- a payday loan deal.  I am pretty sure this is a scam.

similar problem with me and a friend in past 2 days after i freaked out i called the cops and filed a report after searching online, they r not liking me very much since i now call them every hour just waiting for them to change the number, have been cussed and yelled at lol, but will continue to call the until they change their current number

I also received a call from this number from a man with a very American name and very arabic accent.  Claiming I had not paid off a loan from many months ago. He demanded i pay today in full or they were going to press criminal charges against me.  I had paid my loan in full so after reading your post I contact the Attorney General for my state and he advised me not to supply them with any more information than they had.  When i told this man I would not give him my credit card number he got angry and hung up on me twice!

These people are calling my job!  O-M-G!!!! Michael Johnson is his name.  He called me about six months ago and after I refused to make payment they cussed me out...while I was at work might I add.  You are correct they are VERY rude people.  I am going to file a police report on tomorrow.

I to received a call like this, stating I took out a payday loan online and never payed it and they had my social security number,  and I was in big trouble and the police would be at my house with in a half hour to arrest me and I'd better  not run. Beleive me it freaked me out. I called a lawyer and he advised me to call the police to see if there was a warrant out for my arrest, which of course there wasn't . It has been over a month and now the calls are starting again.

I just got that call here at work, went to my voicemail - Jack Andrews (he couldn't even pronounce his own name) he sounded VERY foreign. Told me if me or my attorney didn't return his call in a timely manner, then he wished me "good luck with my life". Sounded VERY much like a threat. Now I am reading every one else's posts and they say it's a cash advance thing and I don't do have one or have never had one. Everyone else's post said they had to file police reports? Kinda got me a little freaked out.

Got another call this morning from Jack Anderson and he told me that he would transfer me to a compliance officer. He would not say who is he representing or what the lawsuit is about. I told him that he has been reported to the FTC and the police and he would not let up. I kept telling him they were busted and they were scam artisrs. He finally hung up.

same number name james parker called me threatening lawsuit , jail if i didnt pay 1200.00 by today i would be taken to court i reported to the FTC. and said basicly everything everyone has said in above messages.

Alex Watson is using different number now.  760-651-2610 and 760-875-4218.  Ignore their calls.  I don't know how they can have so much personal information about a person,,,,,but they do.  They are using scare tactics to get money from you on the spot.  Contact your attorney general and let them know what is happening.  It is a shame that they have scared me to the point where I am changing my bank account info.

Same thing here. I got a message left by someone whose name I couldn't hear clearly.  This man claimed that he needed my attorney's name and gave a phone number for me to return the call.  I called the number and asked to speak to Attorney Alex Watson.  The man is clearly Arabic or Indian.  I asked what agency he represented, asked for his Bar Registration number and in which state he's licensed to practice.  He answered none of these but told me that I owed money for an internet loan and that he needed my attorney's name.  He claimed to have sent notice to me and that criminal charges were being filed against me. I told him that I do have one online payday loan with a company I've dealt with for several years.  My account with them is in good standing.  He then told me where I worked and said he'd have a sheriff at my job tomorrow to arrest me.  I told him he's welcome to show up with the sheriff, the police and the US military because at that point, I knew it was a scam.  In fact, if they call you, it'll be cell phone contact at first and you'll have no way to call back because they'll block you.  So, they found out where I worked because I tried calling back from my work phone and the name of the business came up on their digital screen.  The call back number used is 818-806-3349.

Said I was eligible for a 6000.00 instant loan. I called back came up as a loan office, got through to a Andrew( Indian accent) Told him I was on a do not call list and I did not want him calling me. He said he was sorry. I told him if he called again I would contact my states attorney general. He sad he was sorry again, I hung up!

I got a call from them they left a voice message saying I was approved for a loan of $6,00.00 but the guy sounded a lot like another guy who has been calling threating me trying to get me to pay them $1600 or the cops will be at my house, funny thing is I called the cops and they didn't know anything about it

I just got a call from this number. Not sure if it was a parts place trying to call me back, I answered. Same as everyone, indian accent, American name. He started to say he was from Payday Loans and I immediately hung up. No call back yet.

this is a scam they keep calling saying they are different companys there is no way i can keep receiving calls from middle eastern accent men only. they keep asking about a loan i never applied for and for education i already have.
