I received a call from a James Ross on 03-01-2013...he spoke of a letter i received about a month ago indicating an account that was placed with their office for collection. I ignored the letter, the debt is valid but i just dont have the money to take care of the bill at the moment. The account is now in the legal department...they offered me a few options to resolve the issue without the use of legal proceedings but in the event I cant comply their client has asked that they litigate through the civil court system to recover the debt. I looked them up and did some research being fairly saavy with this type of thing. They are indeed a legitimate collection agency with a legal department. They have been known to sue those who fail to pay debts as I was able to access public records. The offers given were very generous to settle the account - I owe around $1,300.00 and they were willing to settle for $560.00 so i chose one and set up an arrangement for a bank draft for the end of the month...This is much less painful then the alterior as ive been sued before and my wages were garnished for about 25% of my pay pre tax for months costing me thousands in legal fees...Now i just need to worry about robbing peter to pay paul and make sure the money is there to cover it.

bottom feeder creditor trying to scare folks into paying debts that have already passed the statute of limitations.

Jim Ross called me today about an internet payday loan - which I never had - I've been receiving calls from around the country for almost a year about this (from different people) - this is a total SCAM. They tell you they are working on litigation against you and try to scare you into giving them money. Don't fall for it - don't give them any additional personal information. Tell them to go ahead and proceed with the litigation - you'll never get anything in the mail. This is a SCAM - don't fall for it!

Got a call from Jim Ross today. 10/09/2013.  Machine answered because I wasn't home. Said he needed to talk to me or my lawyer. Don't know why I would need a lawyer. Every time some one tells me I owe them money, I tell them to send me a copy of the application with my signature on it. If they can not do that leave me alone.

I received a call from Jim Ross stating that he was from Barrett & Associate he left me a message stating that I or my attorney need to get back with him. He gave me a case number in regards to something, I am sure it is an old payday loan, which in the past I did have however everything is and has been paid in full for over 2 years. Companies sell these loans and companies like these scam people out of their money. Don't give them any information what so ever and if they are going to start litigation against you then they can try but they are scammers!

How do I report them to BBB? They are calling me at work for a Payday Loan I never took! I had a Mr. Smith call a few weeks ago and today a Jim Ross. He said he needed to speak to me or my lawyer today. He left a different call back number than the one he called from - 619-334-9420 x 6.

I Just received a call from Jim Ross, super rude individual telling me he needed to collect a debt I owe to Wells Fargo in a credit card that I opened a few years back. This is the second time I receive a Call from this guy, he initially called 3 years ago asking for the same thing, at that time I did ask him to send me a letter to the address he had on file, and guess what he asked me to give him my address. Not a smart man at all, because if you are a Debt Collector you have that information. Do not believe anything this Guy says, I know what I owe and for sure I never had a Wells Fargo Credit Card. So he needs to be ignored. Always check your debt and your collections so you do not get stuck paying some low scam like this one, on something that you never owed in the first place.
