not sure why this company doesn't get their licensing revoked when the consistently break the law.. apparently the legislators need to step it up and shut this place and it's owners down for good.

Not sure why a debt collector would call me.... my credit rating is over 700.

They just get random people's phone numbers one way or another, and then make up a fake debt and keep calling them about it.  If the person answers, they just try to get them to accept that this is a real debt on a recorded line, and try to get them to make any small payment.  If they get you to say the debt is maybe yours, or get you to make any small payment, then they have you, and legally they can then come after you for the whole amount with an outrageously high interest rate, even if the debt is completely fake.  They do very well, so apparently there are a lot of suckers out there.

They don't have licenses and legislators don't shut things down. Step your game up. Read a book.

Looking for my ex, but calls and mails all correspondences to my son. Told them wrong person!!
I asked if they make any attempts to contact the actual person and not just people with the same name. Was told "kinnda"
Apparently, EVERY person who has the same name (as the person who owns the debt) will be contacted. Wow!! What a system!! Unfreakenbelieve!!

The people at Portfolio Recovery are genuine bottom feeders of debt collection industry. They buy old statute expired debt and through harassment tactics try to collect 10 to 30 cents on the dollar. Of course the minute anything is collected, the statute date resets to day 1 and their other outfits and ambulance chasers come after you. If you have noticed their letter of settlement is only for the debt with them, not original debtor or the next place they sell it to. The only way to fight these guys is to get with your state authorities. These guys know all the Federal loopholes.

This number calls me all the time and I blocked it. It says that its a debt collector but I have no debt. its fraud, so beware!!

They called my dad,  acting like someone had been hurt that I knew and wanted him to give them my number,  he declined and gave me theirs,  all the while, my dad who has heart & anxiety issues believed it was super important this "friend" of mine needed to get in contact with me.  He ended up having a panic attack because he couldn't get a hold of me immediately.  More than slightly angry!
