I am getting repeated calls this week from a company called Auto Loans Network. The calls are from various phone numbers but this one was 630/893-9893. I have also received a call from 602-475-269, last digit not showing on screen but also claiming to be from this same company. There is a legitimate company that goes by that name but they are saying this is a scam that involves identity theft. I did apply online for a personal loan & received calls I turned down since they were for payday loans. I just paid off my car and never contacted this company but don't know how to make it stop.

i answered the phone and a lady with accent wanted to explain my eligibility to gov't grants.  i told her i was not interested and to remove me from her calling list.  she just hung the phone up.

A woman with an Indian accent told me that my Windows platform was sending their server error messages and that I had serious viruses on my computer that were also affecting their server, and asked me to turn on my computer so she could show me where the problem was. I told her this made no sense and she hung up.

Obviously a scam. Called to say there were problems with my computer - said I didn't believe them and hung up.

Just received a call from this number but did not answer as I wanted the answering machine to pick it up.  They never left a message so I called the number back using an American based phone and an operator message stated that the phone is no longer in service and has been disconnected!  Weird scammers!

I love messing with these jerks!  I actually told them I was Bill Gates and it threw them for just a second then he went right back to the script about my computer and a virus and I told him he was a scammer and a thug and he kept insisting he was from microsoft and when I said that the Easter bunny would be here soon he hung up on me.  I love wasting their time!

What a scam - and had the nerve to call me back immediately from another number after I hung up on him the first time! By the way - he was Filipino, not Indian. Beware! Very rude and antagonistic!

Got a call from the same number. The fellow had an Indian accent, called me sweetheart and asked me to slepp with him. Nothing about Microsoft mentioned. I hung up.

I had the lady with an Indian accent tell me about a federal grant of $7800 I was eligible for (red flag #1).She said all I needed to do was to go to my closest western union (red flag #2) with any form of ID, and a check for $200 (red flag 3). I asked if I could use my police badge as a form of ID.  The line went dead.

Same here, but a man pretending to be named Bob with an Indian accent had the same story... I hung up on him.

Rules for handling these scam calls:  

1. Don't answer if you don't recognize the number (your parents taught you not to speak to strangers, right?). You won't hurt their feelings – they have no feelings; they just want your money, credit cards, personal info.  In other words they want to ruin your life.
2. Don't call them back - don't assume they'll put you on their "do not call" list. They won't even if they say they will.
3. Don't complain about the number of times they call if you don't use your own (your service's) Block Caller list.
4. Be proactive and responsible by using your own protection. Assume nothing.
5. Get on your phone service's Blocked Caller list - if they don't have one, get one that does. If there's a fee, it's still worth using it for your peace of mind.
6. Don't think the government's Do Not Call list is going to handle it - they won't.
7. Google the number.  
8. Add the number to your personal Block Caller list.
9. Get on with your life – you don't need to answer every phone call.

This number just called me and woke me up!  It's 3:30 in the morning here!
Here I am trying to have a happy birthday and it's really difficult with a scam company waking me up in the middle of the night!

I first became aware of it in the beginning of the year, he was calling people from Craigslist and saying that he found their dog and that their dog was severely injured after being hit by a car. He would say that he took the dog to the vet but that they won't get the dog back unless they wire him money.
He made up a "company" that he would tell people he worked for.. a search and rescue company that would go out and look for your pet. He would try to get your personal information and said that it was only like $100... whoever they are, they even went as far as to go online to forums and pretend to be people who were satisfied customers ...but in every forum, the person who ran the page would put a *note* by their reviews saying that they came from a suspicious email address that was possibly them trying to scam people.

I posted a craiglist ad for my missing dog and they called my phone claiming it was about the dog (I live in Miami they are based in IL???). SCAM. The dog has been found

Caller left message on recorder in thai, didn't understand a bit of it.number traces back to a mall payphone in illinois.

I receive a message this morning froe 630-893-9893 and he told me he was calling from Microsoft ou Windows I don't remember. I just told to leave me along with their stupid problem.
