Received call this morning. When I spoke there was no reply. I disconnected. No additional call....yet. I will place a "do not answer" on my phone.

the woman would not give me their address to mail them a letter demanding they stop calling my cellphone. i said, dont you know where you work? she said, thats not who owns us. i said, they can send the mail on. she hung up. so i called back, got the switchboard, found out they are credit smart llc, 273 walt whitman rd #310, huntington sta ny 11746, and sent my letter. i am pretty sure this is a 9 year old divorce-based debt that has been purchased for the zillionth time....

This number is so annoying and called me a lot of times looking for Emma Lopez, when I'm not even Emma.

Amazing This guy called 4 times in a row--breaking federal law. Old OLD paper..which was resolved.
Refused to give company name. He said it was on behalf of the Sarah and John Stevenson- no clue who they are.
The state of the economy has brought schuckster kingpins buying firy old paper and poziing the unknowing into  joining him in easy out of statute collections. The guy I 'spoke with was an utter IDIOT.

they called my cell.  asking for SOMEONE ELSE!  not me.  annoying.  it's definitely a credit collection thing.  go away.

They called twice in 5 minutes about a "pre-legal" action. The caller claimed to be Lisa Jenkins and that she is employed by a 3rd party that doesn't have access to any of your information, but does the contacting and legal filing for other companies. She wouldn't tell me who the debtor was, the amount, dates, or anything that would point to this being a valid call. Instead she just threatened to "process this paperwork through" every time I asked a question. After several attempts she finally told me that her company is "PI Processing".

She told me to call John Stevenson, with "Levy and Stevenson", who is apparently my rep, at 1-888-416-4980. I have to call by 7pm today, or else the paperwork will be filed in my county and I will apparently go to court.

Asking questions actually pissed her off enough to yell at me. I doubt this is anything but a scare tactic.

I received this call in morning saying that it is from Pre-legal reagrding some case against me. asked me to call before 2 PM on 888-416-4980.
When I called them , callcenter transfer call to somebody who asked my name. When I spelled it out, she said that its diffent name they have and sorry and will put me on denial list.  Should we be reporting this to Police?

Calls me everyday on the home phone! Make them stop!! D:<

This "company" calls my cell phone many times in a row and leaves automated vm's. Even now call my fiances cell phone, (whom I wasn't even with when I paid this off!!). I have no outstanding accounts, have NOTHING in collections and have worked very hard to get to this place. I check all three credit bureaus frequently. They are calling about a line of credit that was paid off in 2006. I even recv'd a letter of pay off from that creditor. Its beyond annoying, its serious harassment.

This company calls several times a day threatening legal action. When I press them for their information they Just tell me I need to contact Sara Levy or John Stevenson. When really pressed they will say PI Processing. They have even called my elderly parents threatening a law suit against me which scares them. I have filed complaints with the FTC and will file a law suit with the Attorney General. They refuse to mail me any confirmation or give me any information regarding the debt. What scum bags!!!!!

What I don't understand is how did they get my cell phone number it is suppose to be on the don't call list. What can I do to stop this they don't give a name just number

These people are calling my younger sister and saying pre-legal action. Won't leave a name with her or what it is about etc., etc. I really find this hard to be an actual credible debt as I NEVER have given her name or number out for anything legal!! EVER. I always use my mother.
These people are pathetic. Won't give me any information. If you can't give me any info, but just demand $$....sorry pal, go bark up someone else's tree....you can wait in the looooooong line of everyone else that is waiting due to this crappy financial mess I am in currently!!!  Sue me, I could really care less...I don't have anything else to loose!!!!

My parents have been both getting calls from this number.  They have been asking for more information about OLD debts and "they need to pay or ELSE this matter is going to court".  This debt is OVER 10 years, yet they are calling left and right.

This is a scam, a couple of Jews trying to hussel a buck from unsuspecting people with a line that starts out "We have a civil case #xxxxxx for an unpaid debt of $xxx.xx.  If it is not paid by (Date),  the court will place a warrent for your arrest.   The company is CS Processing and is owned by Levy & Stevenson.  They act like lawyers but they aren't, no listing under lawyers in NY.

Lots of SCAM reports online. Ongoing problem for many innocent people. Can you get free "Robocall" software online -- find a way to spam the spammer?

called me at 5 in the morning for someone i didn't even know. they said they would take my number off thier list, I sure hope so..

Called me about my wife but they were actually looking for my sister, said they were going to file papers with the county that i live in against her when i said good luck with that she lives on the other side of the country they hung up.

There really isn't much you can do to get them to actually stop calling you.   No matter what you say they keep calling.  With that in mind, arm yourself with knowledge.  In most cases they are way beyond the statute of limitations for the debt they are trying to collect on.   Their "Pre-Legal" gambit is an attempt to scare you into paying on a debt you no longer legally have to pay.   If you are beyond the statute of limitations for your debt, they can file all they want but the courts will NOT give them a victory.   All you would have to do is show in court with your credit report showing the last date of activity and you win.   You can read up on your rights at http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/debtcol ... pa/fdcpact.shtm and http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm.  

If you are past the deadline for them to collect under the FDCPA, they are supposed to stop calling if you tell them to do so.   However, they do not listen to that.   So what I do is mess with them when they call me.  Don't threaten them or do anything unlawful.  Just mess with their heads.   Talk about your hobby of collecting toasters.   Ask them if they have ever collected dryer lint.  If they wont stop calling, you have 2 choices...   Get angry or Have fun with it.  I choose the second option.
