Got a call but got no response though I could hear some noise in the background.

Said please hold for an important message.  Said it a second time.  Then I hung up

no answer kept saying hello, then it hung up on me

it's lipa (long island power authority)

I never hear anything when I answer. I say "hello, hello, hello" every night... silence. I thought it was something of concern. LIPA sucks, get your act together.

I didn't know what this number was at first, but did realize it was from Keyspan after checking the web. Since my bill is paid, I didn't know what they would call me about and a call to them at the 800 number got me nowhere.

Until today, no message was ever left and I had no success in calling the number back. Today, I actually got a message. It was a reminder for an appointment.
NYS Public Service Commission Pipeline safety code requires Keyspan to perform a periodic safety inspection of the gas regulateor and piping that runs to the meter and the appliances. They say periodic, but in reality it is every 20 years, which is why I had no clue as to why they were calling.

I rec'd a letter this past week saying they had been trying to get in touch with me via mail and phone, but I never got anything, and obviously the phone calls didn't work.

NUMBER IS AN AUTO DIALER FROM KEYSPAN

LIPA left a message from this number.  Probably trying to get access to the meter.

an unintelligible message, that is.

I live in Long Island, NY, my caller ID shows LIPA-KEYSPAN, this number calls several times a day, when I answer they hang up and if i call back only got busy signal.  It is really anoying!

I do have my electrical and gas with them, now I'm thinking of switching utility companies.

haha who do you think you're going to switch to? they've got a lock on the island. hahahaha foolish little man

i got a call from the number, someone said "t.j. max son" and hung up. weird..........

I called 516-545-2315. the number posted here and left a message with NATIONAL GRID, a recording. I indicated that I have received many many harrassing calls, with with no message, or a hang up. Since the number they call on is an apartment and I do not pay them - there absolutely no way they should be calling me. I assume they are just calling random numbers.

My message was if I continue to receive this harrassing calls, they can expect me to seek damages and whatever other legal remedy is available. I did mention that this harrassement is so common that it is all over the internet.

yeah, who ya gonna go to?  lipa is a monopoly here on long island....wish we had other choices.  i guess we can go generator....

It depends on where you live.  There are a few communities, such as Freeport and Rockville Centre, that provide their own power independent of LIPA.

As for the number, I only it's LIPA because of of this site (& ones like it).  No messages, no nothing, just hang ups.
