I have received 9 calls since Thursday from 636-261-2484, on my cell phone! They claim to want to talk to me about my account balance, but I don't have an account with them. They leave a number for me to call. When calling the number they ask for your account number(don't have one) or your social security number(not hardly).
It is not from a CitiMortgage collections department. I've heard from several people that have a CitiMortgage account getting these same calls. They've called CitiMortgage at the phone number listed on their statements, and CitiMortgage had no idea why these people were getting called. Past couple of weeks have seen following numbers from same so called "CitiMortgage" 636-261-9117 and 636-261-2484. Real suspicous, may be trying to get your information, possible scam. If you feel you need to contact your mortgage company, use the number listed on the statements.
Got a phone call from this number 4/10 in the evening. This was the 2nd time they called. The first time I did speak to the man, but just took a message. Last night, when they called I let my husband answer. The man asked for info regarding our CitiMortgage acct. The caller was rude from the get go asking for information about our acct. DH said he wouldn't give out any personal info over the phone to verify our account, saying "Why don't YOU tell me that information since YOU'RE the one that called me." The called then asked why we were delinguent on our account. We've NEVER been late on paying our mortgage and my DH said as much. They persisted, "Well, when are you going to pay? Why do you wait until the 16th instead of paying it on the 1st? Are you going to make a payment?" DH informed him that we have NEVER received a "courtesy call" regarding our account and have always paid by the 16th and asked if things had changed. To make a short story long, when we got home, we called the # on our CitiMortg. statement and the rep said that "there was a computer glitche" and that people who are not supposed to be receiving these "courtesy calls" are being called and he apologized for it. Well, that doesn't really make sense because on another website a 16 year old said he/she got called by this number and what 16 y.o. has a mortgage payment??
Got called from CitiMortgage from this number 636-261-2484. I just happened to be watching the screen on my PBX computer and after my outgoing menu played (press 1 for Mark, 2 for Rita...etc) The call was dropped. They hung up.
Yes, it's CitiMortgage trying to collect money on a past due loan. I'm in the process of submitting a short sale to Citibank, and dealing with the loss litigation people. But, even though that's happening, the collection side is still calling me and trying to get money out of me. They even say I have to start paying payments asgain if I want the short sale to go through, but the loss litigation people are not saying this. So, I don't answer when I see this number...
Received an email from my boss in Huntsville AL today saying that he received a "threating" phone call from this number 636-261-2484 which is near my office in Earth City MO. A message was left on his voicemail and I heard it via email attachment.....message was..."I was just kidding. But there will be no more chicken wings for you I can tell you that."
Now let me tell you...the man likes chicken wings and does consider this to be both an aggrevation and a personal threat on his life style.
I do not know how this can occur from CitiMortgage....but in reading thru several blogs and reporting sites....it seems to be a repeat offender. CitiMortgage may want to read the same sites and solve the problem...whatever it is!!
It's definitely the Citimortgage collections department, although here's some insight. If you owe for a mortgage and it's due on the 1st, it's considered "late" on the 2nd, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. The "grace period" of 15 days that most of us get, is simply the period in which you can pay without receiving an additional "late fee". Technically, they have every right to call you on the second or after, if the payment has not been received. Also, they won't and can't report you as 30 days late if that payment is received within 29 days of it's due date. While this practice may cost you a fee after the grace period expires, you won't be reported 30 days late on your credit. Oh, and if you're late on your mortgage for any reason, expect calls from collections until it's current, regardless if you're speaking to any other loss mitigation/prevention departments. If you are repeatedly getting calls from a mortgage co. and you don't have a mortgage (like the 16 year old) it's probably a wrong number. Just tell the representative on the line "you have the wrong number"- pretty simple.
I got a call from this same number... I don't even have a mortgage. No one ever strted speaking on the other end of the phone... so I just told them to f*** off and hung up on them!
I've gotten occasional messages from this number, and always get a prerecorded message saying that it is Citi Mortgage. I do not have a mortgage. I've tried calling the number given in the message and haven't been able to get through to anyone.
I have recieved calls from this number and I just hung up. I have reported them the FCC. Everyone should report this number and make a complaint at www.fcc.gov.
Its a scam because I am sixteen, don't own anything near the value of a home, and the message said to hold, after about 20 seconds said thank you and hung up.
I got a few calls from this number in December & January. They left messages stating they were calling about my student loan. I answered at one point and a recorded message indicated to press 1 for payment options. When I pressed 1 I was asked to enter my social security number. I immediately pressed 0 and was told I was being transferred to a representative. After a moment a message came on the they were unable to transfer me at this time and disconnected.
My student loan payments don't start until the end of February and in my exit interview at school I set my payment arrangements at that time.
I called citi bank and they stated that they did not call me.
Got two calls in as many days from this number at the office. Since caller ID displays on my screen and I didn't recognize it, I let it ring to voicemail. Both times, they let recording start but didn't say anything. Tried calling back and there was a prerecorded message saying that if you would like to talk about a CitiMortgage account to call an 800 number. No way to get through to an actual person. Note: I do not own a home, I rent. All my banking is with JP Morgan Chase. No reason for CitiMortgage to be calling me. I hope they call back again so I can yell at them, whoever they are. Obnoxious scammers.
I just got a call here in the office from (636)261-2484 asking for account # info. Once given they dropped the call. When I call the number back it states it is Citi Mortgage but to call 800-283-7918 to service your account, which is the main 800 number for Citimortgage. Or to dial the extention of the employee you wish to contact. I am assuming this is their collections? But to call and then hang up, whats up with that.
