I received this text clicked on the link and it said I'd won a £500 tesco gift card and to claim I was to download some game. Haven't done it. Scamming AVG on the message

I had one saying £1000 gift card at tesco

It's a scam. Delete it and block the sender, if you can. If you click the link on your phone or PC it will drop malware on you.

Took me to flix247.com which was a horrible attempt at getting you to click a "Download this video player link". Trafficker is Adorita, a legitimate company, however, I'd probably make a complaint if I was you.

But I'm not, so I'm just gunna delete my text and continue on :)

Ice, or "in case of emergency" is the name that I have on my fiancée's phone. So somehow, they were able to get her contacts. I might blame apps on a phone that ask for your contacts?

It had offered me $500 at Woolworths (a grocery store in Australia... I saw a few people had £, so it must be global). If the country code is +1, it's located in Canada (Saskatchewan). I saw that there was no listing for that number in Canada and trying to call with Google Hangouts failed.

If it was +639, then +63 means it's from the Philippines and the 9 means it's a mobile. This is the more likely possibility.

I keep getting these multimedia messages.  From:  "New Message" (6396377243), with a 1k file "Get it".  Well I'm here to tell you everytime I power up my cell, I get at least 15 to 20 of these annoying multimedia messages.  This needs to stop.  Phone supplier said that because I don't have a smartphone there is nothing they can do.  Bull !
