they called about 3 times and apparently txted me

I just got a call from (646) 558-2000.

I didn't pick up. After reading these posts, it appears to me that this may be a virtual (VOIP) phone number with New York area code, and anyone in the world can subscribe to it for a nominal fee and use it from anywhere in the world over the internet.

Got a call today - didn't answer it, called back, "all circuits are busy - they again later..."

Even I got the call 10 mins back and when I call back its the same message

this is definitely a voip number--i'm talking to my brother in cairo on it

also, i meant to say that he was calling from skype, so i think it is a number that skype uses, not one that has been bought by a particular individual.

I just got a call from this number asking me for money, drug dealers are using it!!!!!

I got a call from this number too when i was sleeping and they called me back again now. A lady asked "do you speak chinese?"

Just got this cell number 3 days ago, who is the idiot that was passing out his phone number to all the companies?? Obviously a solicitor.

when I pck up on this the person tries to sell me a warranty on my car or lower my crdit card rates.

Echos and static galore, seemed like it was a 3rd party phone call (someone leaving me a message by calling thru someone else's number first).  Heard part of the message, but not all.  And this was from my kids - 1.5 hours after they were supposed to call.

Someone is trying to hack into your cell phone's VM by tricking your cell phone into thinking that you are calling your VM from your cell phone (which with many cell providers directs the caller to VM without requiring them to enter a passcode first).

Still skeptical?

1.  Look up your record of phone calls made.  

If you see sequential calls to your cell phone # that you did NOT make, get worried... someone is trying to hack into your VM.

Just got a missed call on my cell from this number. I call back and got the ff message: "All circuits are busy - try again later"

The person also left a text callback message for # 649209367

I just got a cal from this number and it wasn't the first time I'm abou to call my phone company

I just called myself from skpe to find cell phone my phone...and this is the number that came up...something different usually comes up every time, but it usually doesn't look like a real number which is why I looked it up.   So the answer to everyone above is that it is likely a different person calling each one of you, but they are all using a routed, automated system to make the call...if not skype then some other means.  But I just called myself from it, and I know I didn't call any of you so everyone has thier own caller that is using this method.
