Hello,

I got a call from this number. He said his name was Mike Bruno and was calling on behalf of Police Chiefs in New York City. I want to know if this is true?? Please let me know.

this person is a fraud I received a phone call from him asking for donations for the police dept..I told him I don't have any money I was out of a job and hung up..so I called my telephone service time warner they put a block on this number...3 days later I get the same scammer using a different cell phone number 646-873-6632 I told him I reported him to the police department and then had this other cell phone blocked I am was getting calls 9 oclock at night....do yourself a favor have these numbers blocked or else he will keep harassing you,,,hope this helps I am writing this for other people because I am a good person just block it;;;

Just received a call from the same number.  Thank you for the posts.  I have already blocked it.

It is a scam. If you ask directly if they are connected in any way with the NYPD, they have to admit they are not. Just using the name to fundraise for who knows what.

Thanks for comments ..it rang at about 8.15pm jan 2015 could hear brief background noise then hung up. No mention of collecting money for cops but I've had that scam a few times before, funny because they obviously have no idea about the area of NYC they're calling...
