- NotHappy| 1 replyI got tons of calls from (647)278-9950. It costs me a lot.
- francis fernandez| 1 replycosts me 25 cents each incoming call, leaves voice mail.
- Caller: unknown
- mel replies to francis fernandezMe as well but I don't have voicemail on my phone but it shows up on my rogers bill as a voicemail message. WTF
- EliI just called Rogers. Somehow they set up voice mail on my pay-as-go and even though no one can leave messages, I get charged if they stay on long enough to get the 'THIS PERSON HAS NOT SET UP THEIR VOICE MAIL" message. I called Rogers and had them cancel this feature.
- andre replies to NotHappyRogers is making a ton of money on your back, each time somebody contact your voicemail and hangs up before letting a voicmail they still charge .25 each call. Pass the word.
- Sasha| 1 replyI have Rogers prepaid, with voicemail, and each month I get billed an average of 14 times for voice messages from this number (647) 278-9950. Ironically, this number NEVER shows up on my phone's call log. Things that make you go Hmmmm.
- Caller: Rogers
- ScammedI too have been getting calls from 6472789950 for the last 3 months. I called rogers paygo and was told nothing could be done as far as refunding my money. This costs me big time! I told the rep of a similar scam on my landline phone, when I had it, that came from rogers, and that I think this is the same thing, only for pay phones. I had until today, voice-mail with my plan. Rogers offered to remove it, and did. I also asked for a print out of the last 3 months of call transactions, which they are going to mail me @ $3.95. These calls never show up on my phones call log. I only use this phone very infrequently, and $20.00 a month does it for me, occasionally 40.00, some times. I now have to pay $60.00/mo, just to make my regular calls. Faxing all records to CRTC as soon as possible. Going to Twitter and Facebook with it too!
I HATE ROGERS WITH A PASSION!!- Caller: Rogers PayGo
- Hmmmmmi to have got this phone call and i called back and it just rang and rang and rang and then went busy... hmmmm
- hussamI have also experienced the same problem, many calls from this number and waste of time and money.
- Reluctant Rogers customerI got calls from this number too - Rogers credited me for the past 3 months, said they "couldn't see back further than that", which is funny, since even I could, but what the heck, got a bit of it credited anyway. I got rid of the voicemail. I have NO idea how this number got my number, but with it affecting Rogers people, it almost sounds like an inside scam to use up our pay-as-you-go money.
- Caller: Unknown evil company
- MedeaI, too, have been bombarded with that phone number leaving me voicemail (even though I don't use voicemail at all)...so I finally got through to Rogers and JUST got off the phone with them. Apparently this 647-278-9950 number is my voicemail number...not a company number. I told her about reading on a website how others are receiving voicemail from this same number and she stated that it is their voicemail number as well (we apparently are all in the same vicinity). Also, after looking closely to the billing FAQ I found this question:
"Am I charged if someone leaves me a voicemail on my Pay As You Go phone ?
Yes - you are charged for each voicemail received at your local airtime rate (which varies according to your price plan). Plus, you are charged to listen to your voicemail at the local airtime per minute rate. "
So, in other words not only are you billed for receiving a voicemail (even if you don't open it) you will get billed again if you DO open it...Unbelievable!!!
To let you know, she declined my request for getting reimbursed the charges I have accrued, so all I could do is demand the voicemail program to be cancelled and she stated it has been done. So like others in this site -- we shall see. Not impressed!!! - anniboombanni replies to Sashathis is EXACTLY what is happening to me. I noticed my balance was going down on my pay as you go when I was hardly using my cell. When I checked my bill online, his number (647) 278-9950 showed up frequently and I was charged 25 cents (15 cents a couple of times??) per "received voicemail." There are never any voice mails or missed calls recorded! and there is no trace of them in the "incoming calls" log of my cell phone...except for one (the number was 1-866-435-7960) which corresponded with the time and date on my bill of the 647-278-9950 number. So WTF?? The Rogers help person was no help and said that some of the charges were showing as having been "reversed." She couldn't see the culprit number she said and I couldn't see any charges reversed on my bill.
Are they trying to use up my account money for me???? Or force me to leave????
Still hoping to get to the bottom of it...Grrrrr - G Doolittlewho is this? calls sev times an hour @ .25 each time.
- ANNAMARIAMany calls. No messages left. Using up my credits.
