On another website, the person identified it as being Global, a collection agency.  I have been receiving calls from somebody using that same number for the last month.  They don't leave a message.

Same thing... they call during working hours without a caller ID (just the number) and don't leave any mssg ... ???

They phone every day. I'm getting sick of it. I owe no one money and I don't know anybody who lives in Toronto!

They were calling me at least three times per week for the last few months, but always left a message with a recording to stay on the line for an operator. I finally decided to call them and it turns out they are a credit agency ("Global"), but they were definitely not looking for me. They advised that my number would be removed from the system.

Surprisingly, they were very polite an apologetic. If you call them, do so from the number they call and you won't have to provide any information to them.

Got two calls today, 6 minutes apart and it is a machine, I listened for a minute the first time and the recording tried to connect me and said the line was busy .  .  . pretty much a pain in the a$$

I wish my cellular carrier allowed me to block these nuisance calls

Now you just let them know that your number is real and they sell this information upto $1.25 for every real phone number the can confirm. If they get you name or other information, then it worth even more to people who specializes in identity theft.

Thanks for the info ... I called and they were looking for a name that was not familiar to me ... the number they are calling is my work cell.  They did say they would remove from their system.  We'll see what happens.

I got a call from 647-724-1032 at first they talk in french and ask you to hold. Then the call disconnects. When I called back a girl answers has call display and confirms my name. When I ask she says shei si from global credit agency and want more info from me......They are a BIG SCAMMMMMM. I did not give out any info and you shouldnt either.

They just called me today.  I didn't answer as I do not know anyone with this area code.  Decided to look the number up and came accross this site.  I do remember about 5 months ago they did call me and he was very rude and threatened my credit if I did not give them my credit card number to clear this bill immediately.  Not sure how they got my name & where I lived 15 years ago but they never called me back as I would not give it to them.  FRAUD is right!!  If it was from 15 years ago it would have been on my credit already!
BE CAREFUL AND DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO!

I received a call from this number moments ago.  (They call me, on average three to five times a week!)  I spoke with a female "representative", asking for my son.  I told her I didn't know where he was.  She then asked me if I had a number where he could be reached at.  I told her, if I didn't know where he was, how could I have a number for him?  She said, "You have MY number, don't you?"  I replied, "How do you know I have your number?"  She hung up.
It doesn't seem to matter WHAT I say to these "representatives", they just don't seem to get it through their thick heads I'm not about to give out personal information to a stranger over the phone!

Tell them that you will be billing them $1000 for each time they call, and that you reserve the right to call them several times a day to collect the money. Make up a clearly-worded audio recording on your computer or equivalent device, and use it to leave messages on their answering machines.

got a call from this number within the last hour called it back it instantly connected me to global credit collections   I dont owe anyone anything so they got the wrong number

These are calls from the dreaded debt collectors. Add them to your cell phones contact list as "Junk" and NEVER ANSWER THEIR CALLS.

I got the same thing for the last year, and they were looking for someone named Sean or something. and I called once before to tell them he does not live here, I don't even get old mail from that name. This time I called back and they told me they were looking for him and I replied that he does not live here and he has not for over a year and he asked so this is the wrong number.... no [***] Sherlock! then asked if I could give them him number, what makes you think I know him? They were rude and angry at me that I didn't know anything. I find it surprising that they have been calling my house for a year and never got a hold of this Sean person and never once asked "why" for a whole year. Idiots....
