I received a message on my cell from this number and they said they were from a lawfirm and I was being sued and they had personal info. when i placed them on hold they hung up, then left me a message on my cell num

They called me also threating to sue me. they had all my personal info. i want to know if i can sue them  for the emotional stress they put me through thinking i was beeig sued

i got a call from eric foster he left a voicemail , they are a so-called collection agency, i advised them of my rights as a consumer and accorind to federal debt collection laws they have no right to call you and harass you. he said they have my social security numner and can be in contact with the irs, i called him back and informed him that he needed to realize what state he was calling me in, because i live in texas there are no garnishment laws that can be placed unless by a judge wihtin my own state or a federal court, he started screaming, "Ooh no oh no oh no, in sarcasm" these people are a scam and if you can get their address you can send them a cease and desist order or contact your local phone company to have the number blocked them from contacting you.

I just recieved a call from this number pretending to be a law firm as well...."John Bennett" was his name of mine. I too live in TX. So this REALLY is a SCAM!

I also received a call from this number, as well as 650 425 1070, the voice mail states the call is from Brian Cooper of some law firm, I cannot understand his name, and states that the firm has "placed a hold on your social security number" with the federal government...

I fell for this yesterday.  He said that if i didnt make a payment right then they would have me arrested today.  I was threatend and badgered until i agreed to send a fax today with a copy of my drivers license and gave him my debit card number.   In the middle of the night i was thinking clearer and started googling and found this site. Since it refused to tell me who i owed and what the orignial amount was until it was paid I realized it had to be a scam.  what scared me was that he had my SS number and NOW has my debit card number.  At 7 this morning i called and had my card voided then i called the local police dept.  He says that this is how they get you to pay, by lying. He suggested that I come in and make a statement or call and they will come out.   Needless to say, i just got a call from Brian Cooper who said he didnt get my fax and would have to proceed.  He still refused to give me info or paper work.  I asked and badgered him until he gave me his address.  433 Airport Blvd Burlington, CA 94010. I am going to check it out.

i called him back and asked for his office number, he hesitated and said he didnt have one so i then asked what floor.  He said 4th.  I am going to go to the police dept and file a complaint tonight.  i also read were we can sue for the harrassment we have incurred and the way they are handling this.  Dont get me wrong, if there is a debt out there that i never paid i DO want to pay it but I wont pay it without having paperwork showing how much i owe and to whom.

Update - first i wanted to mention that the number i was called from was 650-425-1070.  Since i posted last i was able to find the website of the "law firm" and emailed them a complaint about their practices.  I also called Brian Cooper at least 4 more times asking for paperwork.  Again I was told they ONLY send paperwork AFTER you have paid.  I then checked the debt collector laws for Ohio and California and got enough info that I ended up filing a complaint with the FTC.  it helped that i was able to give them the address, phone numbers, web address etc.  I made one last call to ask for the paperwork and when he refused I told him i was filing complaints and making a statement at the police station.  Guess what, I have received 3 messages since then from David Warner "Sr attorney - yea right" stating that there were new developments in my case and to call them to verify my address so they can send the paperwork.  I called back, got voice mail and immediately ordered them to not call me any more,that I had filed complaints and that by law they only have 5 days to send me the paperwork before I take action.

We will see what happens.  Google is a good thing!  I went from being terrified all night to feeling empowered since I have information.  Again I stress, I have no problems settling any legitimate debt, I just wont be bullied anymore.

Also...google debt collector laws for the state you are in for what they can and cant do and what your rights are.  The FTC website link is there too so you can file a complaint if you have had the same problems I have had.

Another update.  I emailed Hinsdale Law and got a reply from the owner who says this scam has been going on since may and they have reported it to the FBI etc.  She suggested that I too report it to the FTC which I already had.  NOW I am getting more calls, but scams trying to access my computer!

"Eric Foster" of Hendsell(?) Law Firm has been calling me as well for the last few days. I messed with him for a bit and let him know that "real" law firms submit a letter pertaining to any law suit and that having the last 4 of my social doesn't mean anything. Besides, everyone I know is an attorney and once I actually put an attorney on the line with "Eric" he started telling him to "F*** off" and hung up! WOW!!! This is some poor loser who is sitting around trying to scam everyone. Just block the number and report to the police. If it really gets out of hand, maybe the number can be tracked to a specific location and he can be arrested for fraud. I think if enough people report it, they can get something on him.

Once again: REAL LAW FIRMS WILL SEND YOU AN OFFICIAL LETTER!!!

Eric called me too i know hes lying about a loan on cash advance thats bull i dont got nothing and dint approve of any...so hes a fraud low life that thinks he can manipulate people i made a report..i also swen that hes from california san mateo..

Got a call from Eric Foster (india desent) stating he was claaing from Hemstell Law Firm @ 650-425-1020 stating that the police will be here in 48 hrs to serve a warrent to me. I just laughed and said di you really think I believe this? He said when they show up at my door.. Then he said some [***] about it wasa going to cost me $86,000.00 in fines and fees and I started to laugh again and said no it wont because I will file backruptcy LOL.. THis is just another scam from the [***] theifs.  DONT FALL FOR IT!!!!!!

CALLING THE FEDS ON THE GUYS AS WE SPEAK AND I HAVE TURNED THEM IN TO THE COPS

This number has called me for almost two weeks since thanksgiving day i paid the debt i thought i owed. Now there saying I need to pay 99 Dollars to have paperwork sent to my house. I believe that a real law firm wont charge you that much for paperwork if anything at all.

I to got a call from Eric Foster. I believed it at first and did send him 359.00$ than he calls me stating that I need to pay $200 more. I haven't sent it. I decided to google his number. And found this page. I have already contacted the Arlington Police Department and a lawyer.

I received a call from Eric Foster arabian guy no offense. Stating that I owed 358.35 to cash advance. Something told me not to believe him bcus the only loan place I have filed with was Cashnetusa.com but I still sent him the money. I suggested for him to take it out of my account but he stated no he needed it in a Green Dot Money Pak card. I have all my copies. He than calls me to tell me that the loan company wants another $200 for attorney fees. That's when I googled this number 6504251020. And found all of yalls comments. Thank you so much. Now I have an attorney and have reported it to Arlington PD. Now when he calls I'm gonna tell him I don't have the money. He told me the other day that if I didn't have the $200 he was than gonna issue me a check for the amount I have already paid and that APD will be at my place of employer to arrest me. Than I would be fined over 10,000.00 dollars if I loose the case.
