They have called my elderly in-laws several times to "inform" them that the Social Security Administration has selected them to receive an additional $500 per month for six months because "they pay their taxes on time."

I just received the same call. I refused to confirm my address or give them my bank information so the caller started to "fake cry" and told me his job safety was in my hands. Then he put his supervisor on the phone who then said "Give me your Bank name and account # now!" I giggled at his seriousness and he said I was wasting his time and hung up. I tried calling the number back but it said it was not in service.

I work for a phone company in MN, and a customer just called me wondering about this call she just got. It told her to press one to leave a message and she hung up. A few minutes later she picked up her phone and a recording came on saying thanks for leaving a message.
I had her call the MN Atty General.

Just received a call from this number, 651-356-8240, noticed "O2C" on our caller ID, and chose not to answer.  They did not leave a message.  I was intrigued by the number because we are in the same area code - 651.  Curious, I Googled the number and got to this web page.  I tried the number and got the same "out of service" message.

They have called me several times, and i've also been receiving calls from numbers like 9100000000000000 and 217 no clue what's going on.  i havne't answered any of the calls. is there any way to block them?

This number showed up on my caller id at work.  I called the number 651-356-8240 back and found out also that it was disconnected.

I called it back, got "welcome to Verizon Wireless; the number you have called has been changed, disconnected, or is no longer in service".  

Since Verizon is bugging me right now to upgrade service plans and buy new equipment, I'll bring it to their attention.

I have received a call from 651-356-8240. The guy on the phone said he is calling from "debt collector's office". I can hear another guy talking in low vaoice to explain something to me. I suspected fould and hung up. Later called this number and got a voice mail to call 1-800-747-8332 and it was some telephone company.

CAUTION: DO not give any personal details when you receive such calls.

I have received a call from this number twice today. I didnt answer because I didnt know the number - thanks to everyone on this site for posting because now I can see it looks like some sort of a scam.

I get calls all the time and always tell them I am not intrested. I try and call the number back and is disconted. does nayone know who this is.

Received call at 12:19 PM today and tryed calling back and was disconnected!

Caller ID showed 651-356-8240, but when I called the number, the phone system message said that the number 612-235-4198 is no longer in service.  Gotta be hiding illegal activity to use that much mis-direction.

They keep calling, don't leave a message, the # comes up disconnected! Don't even pick up! Sounds like crap. If you pick up, maybe they can validate their scam.

Called my cell today at 3:01 PM and said they were from Dish Network. It sounded like an Indian call center.  When I said my number was on the National Do Not Call Registry they quickly hung up.
