- EnaI hate these people. Same thing happened to me. They charged my phone bill 9.99. I never replied and simply ignored them yet i still got charged. Fix the problem asap so you don't end up being charged
- pmm| 1 replyI am on the phone with verizon right now about this problem -- not the first time
If I am paying the bill to Verizon than why can't it be prevented by verizon this is not a service that any customers want and verizon is not protecting its customers and is collecting the fee for this VENDOR or is it verizon actually ripping people off. I am furious about this.
WE need customer protection rules. - SalyzynWhat government agency govern's phone usage one might ask? I believe this is covered strictly by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (TCPA). This is no different to the 'slamming' we had in the mid '90s over long distance carriers, but government action was not quick to react. Back then, it was only really stopped by having our long distance accounts locked. Only solution this time will be to demand the carrier prevent all premium text messages as a DEFAULT when accounts are opened. Please, paying customers, demand this of your carrier as a serivce to us all!

- soccerchica| 2 repliesok so i went to Predicto's website and they said all you have to do is send the word "STOP" to 654654. i did, and right away i got a text back saying:
"You have been unsubscribed from Predicto. There is no charge for this message. You will receive no further charges or texts." - JenI just seen on my Verizon bill 2 charges for $9.99!!! I contacted Verizon but, the said it's a third party and i'll have to txt "stop", "unsubscribe" to make it stop. I finally contacted predicto.com and yelled and persisted that I NEVER heard of this webite, was never on it or texted back!!And, magically a charge appears on my bill! But, the indian lady persisted that I did. I asked her to make a copy of the files showing I submitted to it and to have her send me them but, of course she said no. I insisted to have Corporate Headquarters contact me immediatly to resolve this. But, I really hope I get my money back for this. I sent them plenty of e-mails voicing my opinions. Please everyone, be aware and check your bill frequently online!!
- gotscrewedtoophishing comes to the cell phone. The punjabi "customer" DISservice agent and the tandoori supervisor explained it like this... Somehow at some point you clicked I agree, or otherwise agreed to the terms of the service (i.e. getting charged 9.99 for nothing). If you failed to read or understand or even notice the terms of the service - it doesn't matter. They still have "documentation" that you "actively agreed" to the terms. Total GOTCHA capitalism.
