Got a call from this number, left a prerecorded message saying something about press 1 now.  I'm on the do not call list and this is a cell phone number.

I too received a pre-recorded message from this number. I called back and spoke to a "Tom" who asked how many vehicles he can insure for me today. I asked him his company name and he said it so fast I couldn't understand what he said, then he jumped right into his spiel. I interrupted him and told him that I'm on the do not call registry and to remove my number. He said "thank you" and hung up, without taking my phone number down. Complaint filed.

Received call from this number posing as some sort of auto insurance watchdog commission. Simply a cheesy way of selling auto insurance quotes.

Wow. Almost the same exact thing happened to  me. Mumbled some alleged company name and said they work with a variety of insurance companies. Cheeseball telemarketing. When I asked if he thought I had auto insurance on California cars he asked if Im in California. I said no, and he said he didnt have time to mess around with ... something, and then hung up on me.

Got a call from this number - someone should post it on craigs list for a free tv or something and see how he likes random calls about BS...and for the person that he told he didn't have time to mess around, seriously? It's ok for him to disturb everybody else but his time is important, huh? Lols

I spoke with Progressive Insurance (got the real number online), since that is the name that was given in the pre-recorded message. They said they will remove me from the list and I let them know I would be reporting them, since I am on the do not call list and have not asked for their services. I also asked that she verify that was indeed their number and she confirmed it was.

I'm sorry I missed the call because my cell is set to silent during the day.  I received a "missed call" at 2:09pm.  No voicemail.  If you try to call back (I used a different phone to call) there is no ring.. just a silent hiss.. doesn't accept incoming calls.  Definitely some type of sales-cheese or marketing mess trying to get through.  I love harrassing these people back.. oh well.

I am on the do not call list and on my cell phone.  They should not call.  I did not recognize the number and so I did not answer.  The list is not effective to stop these calls.
