My boyfriend just called me from this number. He was calling from SKYPE, because he left his cell phone at work. So basically ANYONE could be calling you from this number since it is used to make SKYPE calls!!!

Yes. It is a number used by Skype.  I called my wife via Skype and her cell showed this number as well.

I got a call from this number stating they were a Shipping Courier company. They told me to send $2310.00 to them and they would deliver my package with in 12 hours?????  They also called me stating they were Couier company from 661-748-0245 and 616-748-0242. The bank account I was suppose to send money to was wrong. The numbers did not match up. Bank refused to wire money. Thank you my bank for keeping me from a SCAM. It sounds like an Asis  male. Very hard to understand.  Then on email sent to me had 2 seperate amounts to send them. The amounts did not  match up. A lot of spelling errors also.

I received a call a few moments ago from 661-748-0240.
I was asked is this "my full name" I said yes and he asked if I work for a trucking company, I asked who was on the other end and he hung up on me.

He had a very heavy accent. I had already placed calls to the 3 credit agency's to place a flag on my credit report since I had a similar incident a few weeks ago from another number threatening me if I didn't pay them $515.00 they knew and also my Social Security Number and date of birth was known to this man.

I am walking to the post office in a few mins to mail my complaint to the New York State Attorney General's Office.

Called 1-661-748-0240
and got the following message    "This call could not be completed because
you are trying to reach a skype user.

It's my husband's Skype #!!! Wow!!!!!!!

Btw, Lynne, I was meeting house contractors and "your boyfriend" ((((My husband))))) couldn't find his cell phone and cld me from his Skype phone so I it would ring and he could find it! He found it, At Home, he just got to work about hour ago!!!!! Did he tell you he was married??

I just looked up this number (because I called my own cell phone using Skype and it came up, so I was curious as to what it was exactly) and saw your message to "Lynne". It's really none of my business but I want to help you understand what's happening. Before you accuse your husband of infidelity, please be aware that this is the number that comes up when ANYONE calls using Skype - it is not specific to your husband's Skype phone.

got a call from this number on my cell. First from this number, then an unknown number about a min later, then another call about a min later from the same number. They did not leave a msg.

I just got a call from this number asking for the wrong person. then 30 seconds later, and "unknown" call from teh same guy with a heavy accent saying I was approved for $7800 grant money from the u.s. government. then he said I had to pay a $212 "refundable security deposit" to receive my money. Especially fishy since he said it would be sent directly to my credit union with out me giving my account number, but then towards the end of the call he said Western Union. It's got to be a scam!!!!!

I have received a 3 harassing calls from this # over a period of 2 days. It started yesterday. Very similar to all the posts in this forum. An Asian Male, heavy accent. First call on my mobile, "Unknown". Asked my what my Full Name was. He then went on to say I was being investigated by the FBI and he had some questions. I found it fishy and hung up. The call came right back again. I chose to ignore. Again the same thing happened today afternoon from a Palmdale area # 661-748-0244, 661-748-0240. I have 2 voicemail left in a foreign language that I dont know what the crap it is saying.. I am mad that is happening. If this occurs again, I am going to report it to my local law enforcement agency in Wisconsin.I have all the call logs on my mobile phone.

it is not really your husbands skype number. It is everyones number.

it is very strange because when they called me, an unknown call also came at the exact moment. i called a number back and then started receiving immediately calls from another 609 area code and unknown numbers. I didn't answer and they kept calling for another 30 minutes or so back to back. I didn't answer any of them and they finally stopped for awhile.

Wow thanks to everyone who posted. I am currently being called repeatedly by this number and "unknown". Three calls in the past ten minutes. No messages.

This is a Skype number.

I have also received calls from this number, but they ask for my husband, (by name) and will not leave a message.  I get these calls weekly!

I got the same number over the last few days, I don't answer, so then I got a weird call # right after with 0123456. They never leave a message. Obviously scam artists.

I just received a call from this number and it was the automated reminder message from my doctor's office reminding me of my appointment I have in a couple of days.

Forgot to mention that I didn't answer it initially because I didn't recognize the number, but a message was left.

This is a Skype caller.  Skype has a list of numbers used for anyone making an outgoing call.  This is just one of them and the number is randomly assigned.  It could be anyone.  Scam artists use Skype all the time, but so do regular people.  

If you don't know the person on the other end of the line - HANG UP!  I doubt a reputable company would use Skype in this manner - they are likely either trying to sell you something you don't want or trying to scam you in some way.

My call from this number was my daughter, calling via Skype from Afghanistan.
