Just received 2 messages from 66333 right this moment.
I instantly was suspicious as I haven't SUBSCRIBED TO ANYTHING in my life on my phone. Nor had any activity with a third party company that could of gave 66333 my number.
I can only assume it's by random that I have gotten the texts.
The texts were:
"FreeMsg from Mobile Candy> Thanks for entering our IPAD competition. Pls answer the correct question to confirm your web entry. Disregard if not requested".
Then 30 seconds later a second come through:
"Mobile Candy FreeMsg? Reply correctly to get your entry in the iPad competion + 25k draw." Then a questions followed by answers..
Straight after getting the texts I googled the number and found this page. I saw the post to reply with 'STOP' to 66333 and instantly recieved a message saying "Thanks, you have now successfully unsubscribed".
Hope that will be the end of that.. Really dodgy.. Will check my phone bill in the next 48hours and get on to that site (www.phonepayplus.org.uk) and o2 to heavily complain if I get charged.
Hope this helped some of you.- Caller: Mobile Candy

- KPI received ~4 messages yesterday and one today which got me suspicious. Used STOP ALL and got an Successfully Unsubscribed message. Also spoke with Orange Customer Services who confirm that they do charge but cannot confirm whether I've been charged yet until my bill comes out later in the month. Glad I checked but really surprised that a company can do this legitimately. I certainly do not believe I registered for this service in any way. The moral here is to get in touch with your relevant customer services straightaway. Mine were both expert on the subject and very helpful.

- saintif anyone gets a text from 66333 do not answer it (delete it immediatly) it is a con they will send you messages at £2.00 a time which is charged to your account the only way to stop them if caught out is send STOP back to them and you should get a reply of unsubscribe.still not sure if this has worked as orange are not very helpful.they trade under the name of spongegroup but dont bother to try to contact them .customer service is non existant and the phone number is a recorded message of we will return your call (dont wait in it wont happen) this is the [***] number if anyone wants to try ........08445445438.
ps one of their favourites is you won a ipad touch (oh no you aint)- Caller: spongegroup or 66333

- Schminky2012| 3 repliesDear All,
It's very simple... send STOP or STOP ALL and it will stop... end of...
This company CANNOT send you SMS messages unless either YOU ENTER its promotion (probably without reading the T&Cs that it's a subscription service) or maybe someone who doesn't like you uses your number or, maybe, someone just enters your number by mistake... some mobile numbers are very similar these days.
If you get a message you haven't asked for or don't recognise/understand, don't reply to it - simple.
I have worked for companies in this industry and they ARE NOT doing anything illegal!
Joe Public is very profligate in what it does on the internet (especially with his/her mobile number) yet suddenly has an attack of amnesia when it comes to being charged to their handset....
If you have a legitimate case for a refund then call 08445 445 438 or email help@thehelpcentre.co.uk
Hope this helps...- Caller: 66333

- TJ replies to Schminky2012I text PASS like i was told to then received 2 further texts telling me that i had entered and told me what my numbers were. i didn't send the word PLAY so why did they send a text containing a question that i had to answer by thursday. I text STOP and was charged £4.00, Why did they take money off me when i did not agree to subscribe? I tried phoning 08445445438 but no one answers.
- JohnI have sent STOP straight away back to 66333 after the first two texts that were sent, I got the message stating that I had been successfully unsubscribed. I better not be charged for those 2 texts and the message saying I was unsubscribed. I would say upon reflection, the best bet would be to just ignore the texts all together and don't reply back at all, if you are charged then speak to your phone provider, you will have a more valid case if you just leave the messages as they stand. Also ask them to block premium messages also to prevent the company using any other numbers.
I will be going to trading standards regardless, it is blatant thievery at it's best so if enough come forward then the company will at least have to change it's processes or hopefully be investigated fully and fined.- Caller: Mobile Candy

- Glt14I have txt STOP to end these messages that i DID NOT subscribe to and they still kept coming every Friday about 12 o'clock, 2 each time. Phoned Orange and was told she would get me unsubscribed and i will get a refund. Today at 15.04 i received anoher one. Called Orange got some man called Kenny who basically said it was my fault then cut me off. Called again and was told she would leave them a message to unsubscribe me again and not to worry. I am still worrying because it is costing a fortune. Iwas also told tthat i am charged even if i don't open it, good old Kenny.
