Got a call from "Investigator Rich," from a company called Thomas & Williams. He said I needed to call him back in the next 24 hours about an issue of "check fraud" that's been linked to my name and social security number. He gave this phone number as his direct line #770-355-6776, but the phone call came from #678-373-4609. I moved from Utah five years ago and closed an account there before I moved, but this sounds really fishy to me. Not sure if I should call him back or not.

A former employee of my company has been using a company cellphone number (which I inherited) and is involved in some shady business.  The "Investigator Harris" asked for him by name, so I'm figuring this is a debt collection agency.  I hope my predecesor  gets busted for whatever he's doing or at least starts using a different phone number!!!

im getting the same calls from this company! they call everyday and the cops are working on this case.....THEY R THIEVES!!!

My parents got a call on my fathers cell phone asking for me wanting to know how to get ahold of me..  My parents called me right away and gave me the number to call back.  I talked to "investegator Willis"  who told me that I was wanted for check fraud on a old account that has been closed since 2008 but accourding to them I had taken a online payday lone out before hand and they were calling to collect a dept or they were going to put a warrent out for my arrest.  They had all my information from checking accout to last four of my social.  Then transferd me to Thomas & Williams who was brow beating me trying to get me to pay now and they were tried of me wasting their time when I can pay call them back to make arrangments.  This is going all the way back to 2006 they never tried to take the money from my accout, and never tried to collect through my job, I am a bit comfused on the whoe matter to be totaly  honest with you.

My younger brother got a phone call telling him to call Investigator Jesse Willis back at 678-373-4609 about "misrepresentation of a checking account in order to obtain a financial transaction", and to refer to case number ? when calling, and after I heard it I almost had a heart attack because it sounded so serious, until today when I finally realized that it was just a SCUM SUCKING BILL COLLECTOR calling my brother about a bad check! Now I could care less.

I received a call from them as well. 1-2012. A computer generated recording was left on my Voicemail stating he was inspector jersey willis. When I called the number back 678-373-4609 it was again a computer generated recording inspector Jesse willis leave a message. So I found this site and started calling the numbers you people posted 770-355-6776 was a old lady stating she's never heard the name Thomas&Williams or inspector willis. She's had that number for 23 years. So then I called 855-545-8116. A female answered Thomas&wills so I started asking questions. She put me on hold and after 5 min I hung up. I called back and an agent carter answered. I asked him ti verify the company which he did. In the background I could hear another man threatening someone. Which I assume was a telephone conversation since I only heard one man talking. Agent carter said they were located in atlanta game. I messed with them because there looking for someone else.  They had the right number wrong person. He stated they were a collections agency. Is this true or do I believe some of the posts here saying there a dummy company and the police are investigating them like one post said. All I know is if the were for real they are very unprofessional and like I said there was one agent threatening someone in the background. I made mention of it to agent carter when I was feeling things out and all he said about it was if you owe them money then they wanted it. Good luck everyone . I asked carter to have my number taken off there list and told them there was no one by the name they were asking for they were calling a cell number. He stated he would. Funny tho I called that number back 855-545-8116 3 more times and never once did that receptionist answer it was always carter. I just kept hanging up. They must have caller id and she was passing me being off. Ill keep you posted on whether the calls stop.

More info. Thomas & Williams can be found at 1820 water place Atlanta Ga. There website is twrecovery.com. If they are legit then there collection practices should be investigated for sure. They call themselves agents,investigators, whatever they sound like a bunch of nightclub bouncers who think they are the police and can do and say  whatever they want to people .

Getting the same calls from numbers with area code (678). I have had one to tell me the call was regarding an item returned to the bank. That number is (678) 373-4602. Then received a call from the infamous Agent Carter to contact him at (678) 279-5883. Truth is, they are collection agents. I have decided not to answer my phone when I see numbers I am not familiar with. And I suggest everyone else do the same. I am researching the legality of their tactics. And if I find anything, I am going the Whiting, Furgeson & Rosenburg. They will sue their mothers if they can get a buck. And trust me, they are just as ruthless as these collection agents. I will keep everyone posted.

got a call for (678)373-4602 say that she owed money saying that if she didn't pay right now she would go to prison for check fraud then told her to call back in the morning to make a payment with a prepaid card, i asked if i could send a money order, she says we dont accept that. i asked if i could do an electronic cashiers check through my banking account, she says no. i said okay what about me getting a receipt? she says i will send you a receipt through your email after you make the payment. i said well i would like to arrange this so that i can have a receipt right when i pay you how can we do that she says there is no way this is the only way to make a payment! so my boyfriend gets on the phone(already mad at the situation) she proceeds to call him a loser and a boy( he is 50 by the way) and the curses at him so he asks for a manager, without putting me on hold she proceeds to holler for someone (who i dont believe was the manager) and he proceeds to do the same, have an attitude and being rude. i then look them up after he gets off the phone, they are not listed with the better business bureau. And i would suggest that they get their stuff strait before calling and harassing to many people cause i will be contacting my lawyer.

The police definitely are investigating them.  I was called today for some other chick with the same first name!  I called my dad immediately who is an attorney and he said the person gave me too much information about this girl without first identifying me.
I'm looking for this girl, she should sue them for giving me her ssn and mother's name.

They have changed numbers!  678-951-8695.  They just called and said I was being investigated for CHECK FRAUD and they were turning this over to my local jurisdiction.  [***].  I called and told them I didn't have a checking account so it was [***] and that I wanted to know who was accusing me of this.  He asked me for my "docket number" (b.s.).  I told him I didn't have it and since he just called me he could look it up himself.  He then hung up on me.  Jerks!  Thieves!

This nasty piece of work called threatening me with check fraud and said they were going to have local authorities come and arrest me.  I told them I don't have a checking account and to leave me alone.  When they asked for my "docket number" I told them I didn't have it, but they did and they could look it up.  He then hung up on me.  They are now bombarding me with calls.  Five in ten minutes.  Jerks.  Thomas & Williams.

I called "Ms. Robinson" @ 678-373-4609. She lied and said that they own the debt for a payday loan that I took out on line. I called the payday loan company they explained that it was charged off this debt has been sold to 3 different companies. I have been getting calls from other agencies saying they owe the debt this company is a scam don't pay anything to them!!!! They don't have a website they can so me that they are a law office I asked for a bar # and got nothing I think "Ms. Robinson" is a black lady she is so ghetto I am reporting this ghetto fabulous company to the FTC, IRS and my local police department!!!

Wanting to talk to my husband regarding my mother in law. They also called my daughter in law asking for my mother in law also. I called the number back and just an answering machine. I believe this is a scam. My mother in law lives in a different state and she doesn't have or knows how to read or write. So she never has written a check in her life. So who they r or what they are trying to do is beyond me.

this guy, steve thomas called me yesterday about a check of mine that was written back in 2008. i di not write the check it was stolen from my wallet, so i cancelled all my check once i found out and so the $600 check amount never went through my bank and this is the first ive heard from someone about the incident. stupidly i did not get a police report, and nothing ever happend with my bank accounts so I didn't worry too much after canceling my checks.  this man told me that he was going to litigate against me if i could not prove that it was stolen or that i had to pay the full amount. i am scared to death and unsure of what to do. i checked out their website and left a message for them to email me back asking who they were and why it has almost been 5 years since ive heard about this. unsure of what to do, any advice?

I received a phone call dating the same thing they said it was a check I wrote back in 2007 at Kmart for $450 I don't exactly remember this check but everything seems to check out with a bank and I even called certigy g check service and they have record of this being in there system have to wait 48 hours to for them to get all the information about it to see if it has gone to collections really nervous about this not sure they said I have to have it paid by 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time today

I'm An Ex Employee Of Thomas & Williams. The Company IS Legit!!! The Practices ARE [***] Tho. When They Call You Just Take The Docket # They Leave & Call The F.T.C.  They Will Let You Know Who The Debt Should Be Paid 2. CALM Down When You Get The Calls, I Myself Have Called Numerous Ppl Who Happen 2 Have The Same Name As 100 Other ppl. At Times They Come Up With The Wrong People. NOT A SCAM. Just A Very UnProffesional Business Intity!!!!!
