Harassing phone calls from "law firm."  When I asked the names of the attorney from "Investigator Smith," there was laughing in the background and he hesitated each time he gave me the names of attorneys "Jeffrey Nichols," "John Lebowski," and "Andy Kaufman."

i received calls saying this is investigator chris smith.....are these legit phone calls?

No!  Just read on facebook its a scam, report em!

They called and when i would nt identify myself said thay would proceed against me.  I then called back and asked for the name of the managing attorney and they refused ti give it to me.  I also asked for the legal department and was told they do not have one.  Total scam.  I will be reprting them to the attorney general  and I suggest others do the same.

This is a collection agency.  They called me attempting to collect on an unpaid payday loan from Sandpoint Capital, LLC - this company provides internet payday loans with terms that I later found out violate Colorado State Law.  When I told the collection agency that I had filed a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's office agains Sandpoint, the collection agent who called became very nervous and said "Please forgive us", which tells me that they may have something to do with Sandpoint.  Also, keep in mind that if you happen to have defaulted on a payday loan in which you provided a cancelled check, this is NOT the same as writing a bad check, so they can only file a civil suit against you - NOT CRIMINAL.  The agent who called also said they were with a "lawfirm", but I didn't get the name.  Anyway - check with your State Attorney General's office before you do anything.  The loan I have is real, but this company may or may not be real.  Could have just picked up on the loan and are trying to collect.  Mention your State Attorney General's office and they get spooked - so may be fraud!
