Some guy called my mom's mobile phone today asking what country she was answering from and tried to claim that he was calling from Kenya. The caller ID on her cell phone, however, shows the call came from Cedartown, GA.

Not sure what kind of scam this guy was trying to run because she hung up on him fairly quickly, but thought I'd log the call for anyone else who might get it going forward.

I didn't answer the phone because I didn't know the number.  But this same number was on my caller id today, 2-17-08 at 8;35pm.  I live in Michigan and I have no idea how he got our home phone number.  It is very disturbing. They didn't leave a message.

I got curious to see where was my friend calling me from since I did no recognize the number. I assumed he was calling me from a public phone or "locutorio" as he resides in Argentina, I have the feeling that the country code gets cut off in the caller ID window...

Maybe "my friend" is now sorry he called me from that number!!! wtf???

Received the call, but missed it.  Came from 678-901-4597.  When I try to call it back I get "all circuits are busy".

i got a call on 3/3/08 from that number. the weirdest conversation i have ever had...

Got a call from this number at 4:30 am the other day.  No message.

It's a calling card. The call could originate anywhere.

The number 678-901-4597 is a generic number that is generated when a caller uses their local-area access numbers from a long distance company called Nobelcom.com. The call can actually originate from anywhere, but if someone dials your number using Nobelcom.com's service, 678-901-4597 can be a number which will be displayed on your caller ID.

I just got 2 calls from this number right now! I usually let calls from numbers I don't recognize go to voicemail when I'm at work.

I can't stand these scams! How do they get your number??
