This company calls says it is Diane do I want my carpet cleaned.  Caller ID says North Dakota

Called Sunday morning (!) but those aren't my business hours. I didn't pick up the phone. They didn't leave a message.

It was Diane again from Carpet Tech.  She wants to clean two rooms and will clean the adjoining hallway for FREE.  I have stayed on the line numerous times, asking them not to call back.  They always hang up.  I looked up Carpet Tech on the internet, and it says they are located in Texas.   Well, I think that Texas sucks anyway, but the call is coming from North Dakota.  Carpet Tech in Texas knows nothing about these callers using their name, but I figured they should know about this.   So I filled them in.

This number has been calling me nonstop for months for carpet cleaning. When I asked their company name and address. They hang up immdiately without anwering any questions.

please file an fcc report on them.  when the fcc gets enough complaints they'll do something about it.

This phone number belongs to a public utility named CallerID4U, Inc. They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls.  They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.

This appears to be a clear violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

I didn't pick up, but it went to voicemail and they left a message about carpet cleaners.  I thought telemarketers weren't allowed to leave VM?

I have completed the so called "opt out" number/process twice now and the recording says it will take 24 to 72 hours to have our number submitted. Well that is wrong too because this is the second time in two weeks I've had to do this. there is nothing worse than being interrupted, running to the phone and having this awful ad go on and on..... try hanging up on them - the recording has to run its course to hang up!

No.  They won't.  They might do something if anough people get scammed and lose money.  But they do not care at all about phone calls.

I called the number back today, got an automated number removal service as per FCC regulations (automated system). asked me to confirm the number that called me and input and confirm my number.  It claims that within 3 days (72 hrs) my number should be removed from this calling list.  Hopefully this works in some order of time, even if it's longer than 72 hrs.  Waiting to see if I get similar results to Debbie.

The government (do not call list) does not care. What I do find interesting is........ the only thing I did was type the number in my search box, come here to read, and now .... subsequent searches for other items on my computer also pop-up with carpet cleaning ads.... hmmmmmmm?

These calls are annoyance. Maybe it is a heart medication company trying to increase people's stress and pharmaceutical sales. I have tried registering with the no call list… no effect. Could we route this number to Iran?

Be aware, that when you come here to look up any number, you must go to Internet Explorer and delete or optomise your computer.

If not, all of a sudden " carpet cleaners" will magically apear in any of your web searches.

701-671-9123 is some fking Diane offering to clean my carpet in new jersey. This brainless POS just auto dials the entire country. If i press any number the message repeats. Option one gets you to this [***] Diane. She picked up. I asked her to remove my number and she quickly disconnected. I want this stupid [***] to stop calling. This should be punishable by law. Fking ridiculous. She calls several times a week.

Have received numerous calls from Diane's Carpet cleaning, sometimes there was no one on the other end. This time I spoke with an agent who wanted to book an appointment to clean 2 rooms for 49.99 and a hallway for free. I have been on the do not call list for over a year and as in the past told them so and not to call. They have caller ID and know who they are calling, so booking a bogus appointment with them to waist their time won't get them off your back. Just keep them on the phone as long as possible asking stupid questions. There will be fewer calls they can make to others. obviously US government agencies are not doing anything about this.

I have also gotten numerious calls from "The Carpet Cleaner", as if they are the only carpet cleaner in the country!  How obnoxious!!  I have time & time again asked them to stop calling me.  No help at all!!  When they do the "Robo" call you don't have much of a choice.  Press 1 & all you get is a busy signal, etc.  Well, I have decided that after 3 such telemarketing calls in the past 2 hrs. (Lupus Pick-up Service,  Mary Schwarz CEO (202-349-1155), GLE Energy out of TX (hidden  number), and The Carpet Cleaner (701 671-9123), I would report them all to the FTC.  I did just that.  All I got was a Complaint # for each company.  I was politely told that all complaints are logged, etc., etc.....  NOTHING is changing!!  Enough is enough!!  I  have decided to call the FTC (877) 382-4357 each & every time I get one of these ILLEGAL calls.  Maybe if they get as annoyed as we are, they will do something about this!

Same here, but they said the company name was "Carpet Care." They hung up when I asked for the owner's name. I reported them to FDC. They have called me approximately 20 times over the past 3 months.

Oops I mean FTC. I think next time (and I am sure there will be a next time), I am going to schedule an appointment and see what the deal is. Clearly they are some kind of scam, but I am curious as to what the scam is.
