Claimed to be Rachel from cardholder services. My wife hung up on them, had I answered I would have tried to get the name of their company to file s Do not call list violation. Beware, it's a scam, they are a credit card fraud ring. Caller ID said "RESET"

This is a totally unprofessional company.  First, the call is an automated call.  It begins stated that there is a possible problem with your 'card'.   Second, they never mention what 'card' is involved.  Third, when I responded to their "Please press one'" option I had to wait almost  a full minute for a representative.  When the rep came on the line I expressed my desire to be removed from their call list he promptly hung up without a word to me.

If you are not expecting a call- don't answer it, let the machine pick up and it's safer to listen
and not be live on the air with them. Unscrupulous types will record you saying 'yes' and use it
to justify bogus charges on your bill, which they will prove with the tape of a voice on your end
saying 'yes'. They did this with our daughter, who was home from college one summer,
and asked her to 'verify' our billing information, which she was glad to do. I'm not saying this particular
number is behind such scams, just saying BEWARE and it's better to be safe than sorry. If you do
answer and they seem to be working REALLY hard to get you to say 'yes' repeatedly- hang up quickly.
The US is like a third- world country now, like the wild west again in some respects, and the sooner you 'get it', the better.

Same as everyone else said. When I asked them not to call again (after the 4th time I pressed 2 to be put on their do not call list) they hung-up on me. Next time, they're getting an earful!

I wasn't home for the call, so it wasn't answered.  I have noticed that we get many phone solicitor calls weekly, but since we have the answering machine set to 6 rings, 90% of them disconnect before the machine answers.  I believe most of these calls are computer generated and the computer is programed to let the phone ring 4 times.  If there is no answer by then they go to the next number.

These so-called people are the scum of the Earth.  They are cowards.

Flatulate in their ear if you get the opportunity - that they will understand - but be careful they may construe that to be a reply of "yes".

Caller ID shows this call is originating in "Center, ND"
There was a recorded message in voicemail, but it began in the middle of the message, and no company was identified. Message referred to "lowering your interest rate."
We are on the Do Not Call list.

They call every day. Back to back to back to back calls. It rings about 10 to 15 times before they hang up and call right back. We did answer it a few times but no one says anything.

John from Missouri replies to Locke
A while ago I chased this number down, cardholder services might be Discover Card.  I filed a don not cal complaint with the Missouri Attorney General's office - they directed me to Discover Card.  I wrote Discover Card - the calls went away for about 6 months.  They returned last night.  It's my phone, they have no "right" to call me and I really get angry when I get these calls that interrupt my family time.  I will cancel my DC if I find out it's them again.  We have been cardholders with DC since 1984.

Your are SO right, Patti, especially about the 'wild west' comment.  Thanks to the Regan-Bush-Bush2/Cheney years, almost ALL our consumer and civil protections have been nullified.

    Smarter than these CRIMINALS
    1.  ALL are SCAMS/ID THEFT attempts using the themes of "lowering interest rates" or "winning a home security system".  ALL attempt to get CREDIT CARD NUMBERS and/or personal info such as SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS.
    2.  ALL are ROBO-DIALED, thus the reason that many are 'blank' or 'no one there calls' or don't leave a message.  (These are computer generated calls that, dial as many as 10 numbers at a time.  The FIRST one answered goes to a live person in a "Boiler Room" Call center (TELEMARKETERS, so to speak) who then pick up their handset and proceed to launch into their SCRIPT to try and either SELL to you or STEAL YOUR INFORMATION FOR FRAUD PURPOSES.  The REST of the calls in the bank of 10 are put into ‘limbo’ or dropped for the moment, BUT the COMPUTER RECORDS THIS and PUTS THOSE NUMBERS BACK into the SYSTEM to CALL AGAIN, later.)
    3. ALL are using ALL or mostly FOREIGN ACCENTED CALLERS, of hispanic or ASIAN-INDIAN origin, thus..
    4.  I suspect these are all ONE AND THE SAME "Company" which is using various "SPOOFED" (false, pretending to be somewhere/someone they are NOT) NUMBERS and PROBABLY NOT EVEN ON U.S. SOIL; probably GENERATED OVERSEAS in some SQUALID GOD FORSAKEN COUNTRY with NO RESPECT or MORALS for US VALUES and LAWS.  PROBABLY OWNED by either a foreign government OR RICH AMERICANS or AMERICAN CORPORATIONS who are trying to further RIP OFF others.

IT CANNOT BE "COINCIDENCE" that these calls come in 'waves' or 'spells'; none for several weeks and then multiple calls from multiple numbers all at once over several days/weeks.  They target banks of numbers in the same areas/area code all at the same time.  They  THEY ARE NOT LIKELY ‘INDIVIDUAL’ COMPANIES; I suspect a MAJOR CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE HERE that the U.S. Government either CANNOT find/stop or WILL NOT find stop, because SOMEONE IS BEING PAID OFF TO allow this to PERPETUATE.

I SUSPECT THIS IS ALL TIED TO THE VARIOUS PHONE, CABLE COMPANIES, and **CREDIT CARD COMPANIES who
    5.  Want you to USE UP YOUR CELL MINUTES on CRAP, so you'll be 'forced' to 'UPGRADE' to higher cost plans, and,
    6.  Agree to PAY EXTRA for CALL BLOCKING services, CALL SCREENING services and even CALL TRACING services (as high as $5/call!) not to mention **UNNECESSARY** "CREDIT PROTECTION or MONITORING" SERVICES.

    WHAT YOU CAN DO:
    7. REGISTER ALL YOUR PHONE NUMBERS with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, www.donotcall.gov and then FILE A COMPLAINT after EACH AND EVERY ONE of these calls.  Eventually, the government will be forced to address this, especially if you follow up with #4 on this list.....
    8. DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS.  IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE. (If you have an IGNORE button on your cell,  to avoid paying for voice mail, USE it!)  IF you IGNORE, I PROMISE, eventually, theses calls will diminish in frequency.  THEY ARE PAID BY THE CALL, and like the playground bullies, if you don't engage with them, they will go where they get the most reward.
    9. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK, Do NOT PRESS # to 'stop' these calls.  THAT DOES NOT WORK!  In fact, all that does is CONFIRM TO THEIR COMPUTER that your number is a valid working number, and it will RECORD your number as one to TRY MORE FREQUENTLY.  Again, see #1 and #2 above!
    10.  CALL, WRITE, EMAIL, FAX YOUR CONGRESS PEOPLE, STATE REPS, AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. Push, Push, Push!!!!!    **THEY WORK FOR ***US***!!!!!  If we BUG them enough, SOMETHING will get done, eventually.  SQUEEKY WHEELS, people!!!

LET’S BE *SMARTER* THAN THE BAD GUYS, AND LETS STICK TOGETHER IN THIS!

Another scam robocall about lowering credit cards.

Since they refuse to stop calling, best thing to do is get back at them by wasting their time and giving them bogus info.
