They have 174 numbers!!! If they are calling your CELL, and you are NOT the person they are looking for, or it's for YOU but the debt is EXPIRED (ck your state-CREDIT CARDS 3 to 10 Yrs & WRITTEN CONTRACTS -3 to 15 Yrs ) or you never gave your CELL to the original DEBT CO, Check NACA ONLINE for an attorney to SUE!!!! because; "Congress passed the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”), 47 U.S.C. §227, to curtail the use of automated dialers and prerecorded messages to cell phones without the permission of the consumer." ...$500.00 per telephone call and $1,500.00 per telephone call if willful. !!!!
There are free phone search companies ONLINE (I found 4) that can be accessed by anyone...that show clearly in the FREE AREA that my phone number is from a CELL...And if they PAY A SMALL MONTHLY FEE can see who the CELL Number belongs to...I'D CALL IT WILLFUL!!!! I'm giving that info to my Attorney!
Other complaints can be filed; BBB, FTC, FCC, Do Not Call List, Consumer Complaints, Attorney General of State the company is located in...

They collect for Power companies i know for sure thats why they call me

I am a male with a deep voice. They called my cell phone looking for a woman. I told the caller that she had the wrong number and she basically went off. I finally told her to shut the f*ck up and hung up on her. I called the number back and told them to put me on their do not call list because the number they were calling was an old number or incorrect number.

Don't call my number you are being recorded to sue

Call the Federal Trade Commission at 1-202-326-2222 or on the web go to www.ftc.gov then they will stop. Be sure to have the tel # they called you from and the name of the person that called you, document every word they said to you. The Federal Trade Commission does not tolerate this abuse, even if you owe portfolio money.

They take 1 bill no matter how old and if they have a court case in your area they try to get all of the cases together at one time.   They also sell the 1 bill to several companies to try to collect and all of the companies are in different states.
Make a file using excell to keep a record of the calls coming in.  I just had one to come in today and it is a Sunday, which is illegal to call on Sundays and Holidays.   these are just a few of the practices that are being violated,  go to the link or look up the whole  Title USC 15  code on debt collecting   they can be fined a nice bit for breaking the law.

This is a collection agency that is looking names up on the internet, probably the white pages, and hoping you are who they are looking for.  When I verified I wasn't the person she was looking for she politely said she'd take my number off the list.  Of course, previous callers for them were absolute [***].  I got lucky this time.

I stupidly answered a call from them on my cell phone.  Repeatedly told them I wasn't wife #1 and feel free to send me copies of original charges from original company and I would check it out.  Heifer went off on me big time so I said some bad words and hung up.  Must see if I can block them on my cell.

These lowlifes have some serious credibility issues. I've gotten calls and messages left on voice mail, telling me I need to contact them within 24 hours regarding a "business matter" or they may turn this "business matter" over to an attorney. The problem is: When I ignore their "warning" and go on about my day (because frankly, this debt was discharged in a personal bankruptcy at least 7 years ago), nothing happens 24, 36, 48 or even 150 hours later. I get the same calls on a weekly basis.

A company which I believe to be "Portfolio Recover" has been calling me from various numbers - the 7024107497 is the latest.  This last time I was contacted was upsetting.  I am out of work & on 9/29 replied to an employment ad on Craigslist & attached my resume.  I received a call this morning, 10/2/12, at 10:00 AM HST and let it go to voice mail.  When I accessed my voice mail, the woman that left the message said her name was "Sarah" & that she wanted to do a phone interview with me to see if an "in person" interview would follow.  She did not give her last name, the company name, phone number or any information.  She just mentioned that she saw on my resume that I was currently working so I must be at work and she would give me a call back in the afternoon.  Someone from that # later called me at 2:03 PM HST today (10/2/2012).  I did not answer and no message was left on voice mail this time.  I have saved the recorded message from this morning and will be seeking some type of action - whatever is allowed by law.  I also reported this incident to Craigslist.
