Selling local advertising.  Transferred me to another number once I agreed that it sounded like a good idea.  I'm in NY and they had southern accents so it seemed a little fishy.  Definintely not from the local golf course, but people outsource so I went with it.  Then the pressure was on to give them my credit card number.  Way too pushy.

The phone call was actually made from this number: 703-481-0860.

The message was left by William Kennedy of the local Empire Ranch Golf Club who asked me to call this number: 703-481-0319 about a project their working on. I did not return the call because the area code is definitely not from our local area.

Pretending to be from Rooster Run Golf Course in California but calling from Virginia.  Obvious scam.

Claimed to be Edward from Taylor Glen Golf Club near me in Ohio. Wanted to know if I was interested in advertising my business on the club's new score cards, and had a bunch of obviously invented statistics about the course and its members.

Got a call and left message saying his name was Edward from Hog Neck Gold Course near me in easton MD.  Wanted to know if I was interested in advertising my business on the club's new score cards, and had a bunch of obviously invented statistics about the course and its members.  I called the Golf Course to see if it's legit and of course it was not.

Received a call from 'Brantley' from the above, wanting to speak to "the owner". I did not return the call, Googled it, saw all of the above info on this number, and will block the number for the future.

Got a call from William Kennedy about a golf course in my area. Called the number back and they are selling Golf Course ad space at Plumas Lakes, Mr. Kennedy was very slick. Googled the number and found this so I was skeptical. Called the golf club and they confirmed that they are running the project.

Got a call and voice mail from Kyle at Riverside Golf Club stating he was the project coordinator there.  The call was actually from 571-313-8930 but told me to call 703-481-0319.  Did not return the call but did a Google search and found the above info.  Neither the 571 or 703 area codes are near my location so not interested in telemarketing.

Joe Coneys just called our office asking for the boss by name.  When I asked what it was pertaining to, he said "a project at a golf club" in the area.  I too was leery and googled the number and found all of you people have the same problem.  Sometimes I don't question different area codes because I moved here from a different  state and still have my old number.  So you cannot always go by that!   Google is a great thing!!

Golf courses hire companies like Benchcraft because they don't have the man power at the club it self.

Got a message from someone named Rocky, calling for the Martin County Golf Course. I was suspicious because he was calling from a 703 number and we are in Florida. Looked up the number and saw it was a solicitation. Didn't call back.

Received a called from Edward from Cherry Creek Golf Club.  Said he had some project information but It was proprietary information and need only to speak to our owner....sorry not buying it!!!!  If you cant be open and honest than something not right!! Goodbye EDWARD!

Andre from Ravenwood NY - originally called from number in VA 571-375-0734 - Golf Course wants us to advertise in their booklet but said they wanted to speak to owner only on this ongoing project we have with time. (NOT) SCAMMER DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD EITHER.

Wanted me to buy advertising for a brochure for a golf course that no longer exists. What an idiot.

Got a call from Doug Kubow (sp) about Madison Green Country Club in West Palm Beach. Thanks to everyone's comments, I won't be calling him back

Called about a project at a local golf course and told me to call 703-481-0319. Pretty much what everyone else has said.

Guy named Steve said he works for Bench Craft (571-375-0741) contacted our business with an offer to pay $375 for a 1 yr promotional spot at a local golf club, even had the GM  and director names correct, however I contacted the golf club directly and they stated they had nothing to do with this company..So I say...SCAM ARTIST...Beware, always double check, and never make a rash decision, as they were good sales and very persuasive! Said to call him back when ready to make a decision (703) 481-0319. Yeah not gonna happen!

Received call from Bench Craft (571-313-8930) a gentleman named Deon.  Stated he had a project he was working on for Suffolk Golf Course. Told him I would take a message but he didn't leave a number.
