They use several numbers, two of which i know for sure are 990-8987 and 703 530 5978...i just don't answer the phone and let my machine screens my calls for now on!

called at 8:41am, after I'd left for work, left no message.

Called today, no message.  No idea who it is.

This is a telemarketer for Virginia State Police.  I did answer the phone since it had an unknown name but the number showed and I didn't recognize it.  My daughter answered and the person identified themselves as Virginia State Police, she handed the phone to me and I just diconnected it.  Unfortunately, Do Not Call does not cover charities so they can harrass as much as they like

Multiple calls from this number asking for Benjamin. Did not say who it was and I disconnected the call

Although these are legitimate solicitors for the state police, they do *NOT* directly represent the Virginia State Police and my personal objection is that they have a very low percentage of flow through to the people they allege to support. I think that if you really want to support the Virginia State Police, you should get involved in a different way.

I certainly favour supporting the state police, but the flow through is simply too low using these telephone marketers. I answered with a badge number and they hung up immediately, which is a very bad sign, IMHO.

I have received several calls from this number( State Troopers). Each time that they call, I politely tell the person that I am not going to give any donations and to remove my phone number from their calling list. They still continue to call my house. The calls range from 8:45 am to after 9 pm. Now when they call, I pick up the phone and hang up it up.  

The phone number on the caller ID is listed as Local ( area code 703) but my area code is 757

This is a scam.  It is not connected to the Virginia state or local police.  Report to your local police department and the Federal Trade Commission.  The police and FTC said it was a scam.

Rec,d two calls this morning, the first caller ID was for West Asset Mgt, the same number called the second time, this time the ID was the same No message was left, I do not answer numbers I do not regonize.

Said they were with the Va. State Police - very nasty - when I asked who was calling and their name, told me they were with a company called Xento?   When I asked to be removed from telemarketing do not call list - once they admitted that he was representing the Va. State police but not with the Va. State Police - he was very very nasty with me on the phone.  He also was accusatory when I asked who was calling, and he said the VA state police and I said what did he want.   This is unbelievable - they make it sound like it's an emergency - then they are rude and ugly and angry.   Unbelievable - phone left on caller id is 703 539 5978.  I hope the FTC investigates.  I'm all for VA. State police but I would hope they would not engage in this way to solicit money - I would think not.   If the VA state police contracted them, I would suggest they get another firm immediately.

said he was state police, called me "hon" and I hung up on him. VERY RUDE!!

This number called and I did not pick up.The caller ID says local calls
and appered with the number.There are numbers like this with no identification or
company names.

We have experience and they are simply nasty and we don't respond to these type
of calls.

This number has so many complaints and I don't understand why authorities
do not stop them

call every few days saying the are Fraternal Order of Police or something similar.

I cut them off saying I am on DO NOT CALL REGISTERY,   they try to talk
me into donating anyway.

I have a new home number and they were calling it within 3 days of me getting
the number, but the number is now registered DO NOT CALL, and weeks later
and numerous times of verbally telling them  DO NOT CALL, the calls continues

I have checked with local police dept -  THIS IS NOT AN ORGANIZATION
THAT THEY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH.

I offered to address their cause via postal mail and guarranteed a definate donation, but the individual on the other end of the line kept saying, "ah, ok......silence." Next they repeated the solicitous remark and said the same thing and then click, they hung up.  I will not be sending a donation.
