Caller claimed to be from Herring Bank and my card had been placed on hold.  If I wanted to correct this problem then press 1.

I received a call twice this week and each time I let it go to voicemail. The message says they are calling from Herring Bank and that my card has been locked for security reasons and to press 1 for customer service.  I do not have an account with Herring Bank and the only Herring Bank I know of is in Amarillo, TX.

same here and a friend, too last night. Must be a scam.

I just pressed 1, they told me to press 1, so what will happen? aaah, SOS

I just got a similar call, the bank had initials beginning with an H, and claimed my MasterCard was frozen and asked me to press one.

It was a recording, and I hung up.  Kind of curious what they would have asked me to give them had I pressed one.  They must be trolling for bank accounts from drunk people, right?  My call was around 11:30pm.

Anyhow, glad whoever set up this page did so, so I'm even more sure it's a scam.

4 in the morning - got a call from this number, didn't answer. voice box "bank... card frozen..."

4.30am, didn't pick up. voicemail got a prerecorded message saying mastercard was frozen.

Got an automated call at 9am from "HSBC Bank" saying my mastercard was on hold, and to press one.  I did nothing, the message repeated and then disconnected.  I don't have an HSBC mastercard (though I am sure this isn't them calling, they are great - my dad worked there for years).  Thanks for setting up this page so I know this was in fact a scam.

I would like to say that my work number is 703-893-7322 and neither my company nor I are calling you. Someone is spoofing our phone number via caller ID and trying to scam people. This is actually quite easy to do. And it has been happening for 3 weeks now. Calling someone - no mater how late at night - is not illegal. Please do not give out your personal bank information. Please feel free to disregard all calls from this phone number. The scammer seems to be calling sequential phone numbers in certain area codes so they do not "have" your cell phone number. We do not use automated calls. We are only open 9 am - 5 pm. No need to leave me cursing and rude voicemails. No need to threaten to sue me either. Thanks.
