Some guy with a mid eastern accent (very thick) called me at work saying he had a complaint against me and I had to respond right away or he could not help me get out of the mess.  I told him to take the complaint and do whatever he needed to do with it and good bye.  This same guy has called my house and my work numbers from another telphone number other than this one.  I think they got my name when I applied for a payday loan online.  Beware its a scam!!

i got a similar call on my cell. then i called them back on my work line. then this number showed up on my work phone as a missed call.

i think it's the same group that tried to scam me 2 yrs ago. very similar story: bad debt pending criminal filing. i can settle. just send the money.

Man with accent calls either from this number or number coming up as "unkown name".  Has called my home number anywhere early morning to late evening.  Very persistant, won't stop calling.  States it's in regards to credit card debt for a card we do not even own.  Wanted to verify my address and it wasn't even mine.

Called, hung up.  I tried to call back but they wouldn't answer.

Calls early morning asking for Jason Glifford.  Tells him he as has the wrong number and immediately hangs up without a word.  Unable to even get a ring when calling back.

We get calls from this number. Today they claimed they had a check for me.We KNOW this is a scam as they try calling from various numbers but we recognize the accent. When we hang up, they call back as an unidentified number. We just hang up. When I tried to call that number to find out who they are,  the phone would not even ring.. I suspect they are the same ones or group who call from Kingston, Jamaica.

Caller asked me a vulgar request in a sexual nature to which I hung up on him.  They called back but I did not answer.

Got calls after midnight (3 in a row) to my office number, two in a row to my cell my cell number, all 'Private Number'. Must have forgotten to hit *67 as the last call came in as 704-247-3000. I now block all calls from private numbers as well as from this number. Problem. Solved.

Got call from this company claiming to be AT&T to authorize changing my long distance service to $6 per month. I was then called from (888)520-4890 to authorize the change. I didn't give them any personal info other than to correct the address, that should have been a red flag but the idea of reducing my phone bill from $25 to $6 was so tempting. Now the phone comapny can't find any changes on my bill.

Eastern accent man telling me that the government had awarded me an 5,000 grant, and I needed to go to the nearest western Union to collect it. The catch is you have to give $95.00 to an cancer charity first and you willbe rewarded back the money with your 5,000 grant.  This a SCAM all day long.  BEWARE.

Received a call from this number 12/6/10 at 10:41am at work. No voicemail.  When I called the number back, it hangs up without even ringing!

Get calls from this number 3, 4 or 5 times a day.  We have enrolled on the Do Not Call List, but still get calls.  Need to know how to stop them....driving us crazy.

Hey I got the same call, the asked for me by my nick name and correct last name...Then hung up on me and when I tried calling back it's just busy....... All this on my work number, and I always answer the phone there!!

I have no idea who this company is, how they got my number or what they even want from me.  They started calling me in September of last year and they never leave a message and no one is ever there when I answer the phone.  Today, a Sunday, they have called my home 4 times in 5 hours beginning at 8:36 this morning and have left no messages or even had a person on the other end of the line when I answered.  I have filed a complaint with the FTC.  I wish I knew who they are. What a group of bottom feeders!

After doing some research on this number, I have confirmed it is a scam directed towards people to either get them to think their children/grandchildren are in trouble and need help or to try any other way possible to make you give them your money.  On the 5th call that they made to me today, I finally had a woman after a pause- which confirms to me that they aren't here in Charlotte- with a Middle Eastern accent ask to speak to my mother, who is a senior citizen.  Last summer this group conned an older grandmother in her 80's out of money by impersonating one of her grandsons and telling her he was in trouble in Canada and needed help after being arrested and that his attorney would be calling her back within a few hours.  In total, they conned her out of more than $2,000 in a day and tried to get another $960 when she realized something was wrong and hung up on the "attorney" that called her all three times from a Quebec exchange. I'm pretty sure they get their info through public records and all of the free information available on the Internet that we give out or that can be researched.  In this case, the lady volunteered the name of the grandson during the conversation after they called her "MeMaw".  The report is available on the Wayne County sheriff's website at  http://www.waynegov.com/165810410153558197/cwp/view.asp?A=3&Q=282348&C=55023

I told the person not to call me again and they disconnected just as I was telling them I had filed a complaint with the FTC.  If they do call again, I think I will play along and record the conversation, then pass all information on to the police department.

Someone named Dave Crawford saying I will be served papers due to a "bad check." To call 888-215-7220 to rectify so as not to go to court. I had one of these calls over a month ago and I'm still waiting! Scam beware!

Same thing over and over.  Calls from 7042473000, Caller ID is Southeast Call and they call 1-3 times a day on my Vonage home office line and hang up.  Vonage cannot block a specific number though.  What a pain.
