got call from (704) 837-7196..no ,message, called this number and it says its been disconnected..added it to my blocked list of callers

I keep getting calls,and when I answer they hang up.

said 'sorry, wrong number' as soon as I said "hello"

Called my wife a [***] when she asked if she could take a message.

Fax a letter to the Secretary of State maybe if they get enough letters, phone calls and faxes about the problem numbers they will do something about it.

To whom it may concern,

I have been having major problems with a phone number in your State.  (704) 837-7196 I Googled  the number and found out my husband and I our not the only ones.  There are 88 pages of people with problems from this number alone.

Your state seems to be having a problem with this number and several others of harassing calls, now I know its not just your state but for the moment it is the one I am having a problem with.  

When it is called back the number says it has been disconnected how can someone do that.  Can someone in your office help us make them stop.

If you 'trust' the security of the internet (?) this number can be traced to it's owner by using several 'reverse phone number' websites. All of thses say they are free but when you try to use them it they ask for your credit card and a charge of at least 9.95.. Yellow pages got 44 items of information on this number and would display them if you pay the 9.95.

There must be a truely 'free' tracing' service without risking your credit card number going out over the internet.

This number is physically located in Mecklenburg County, Charlotte NC. This county is located in or very close to the downtown Charlotte area.

A search of this number using 'FreeCellPhoneTracer.com' showed the number is a land-line phone with a level 3 communication license with the state of NC ans is located at Latitude: 35.2100, Longitude: 92.0000

Looking for a website that allows you to 'Map' for a street address by latitude and longitude might work.
