they called my cell.  Maybe F.O.P. Chicago?

This number has called my cell numerous times in the last month. Never leaves a message, and no info on reverse lookup.
Originating from Riverside, Illinois.

Update to my previous post. Tried answering the call - heard a series of beeps. Tried answering and rapidly pressing the * button - did not get rid of them. This number calls me every day. I have named it "Nuisance" in my list, so I can see the caller without looking closely at the number, and can ignore.

They call me everyday. They don't leave a message. Soooo annoying!

Got a call from this number yesterday. Called it back and it said it was from the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police or something like that, very hard to hear the recorded message. The recording also gave a 1-800-379-2098 "customer care" call back number. The guy I talked to (I got a name but I figure it's fake) was the rudest person ever. First he asked to speak to an ex employee that he apparently had on record as being the owner. When I told him she was not, he demanded to know the owner's name and when I asked him who he was calling on behalf of he got extremely rude with me. Last I checked we have a right to know that? I also informed him we were on the do not call list (and we are). He completely ignored that. Going to look into it further today and hopefully file a report if I get enough information.

This is the police fund raiser people.  They call my office several times per day.  Even though I've asked to be taken off their call list.

Been getting repeated calls from this number on our home phone, asking for my husband. The guy on the phone won't talk to me. When I asked if I could take a message he mumbled and said he'd try back later. When I asked for a name I could tell he quickly made one up: Howard. They are so unprofessional, and I suspect they are calling because two years ago my husband donatd to the chiefs of police, if thats even who they are.

Rude gentlemen called looking for the owner of the company. When I asked what it was regarding, he said "a civic matter" and he was from a sheriff's assocication or something. He kept at it, very persistent. He even told me how to answer the phone in the event someone called looking for the owner again. Yea right, next time listen for the click/dial tone buddy!

I just got a call at my office asking for the owner about "a civic matter" also. He left a name Matthew Defrenne but wouldn't leave a call back number.

This number called me today. When I first picked up I heard nothing and then a click and a man's voice came on the line asking to speak with the owner of the company. I suspected this was a telemarketing or scam caller so I pretended not to hear him and kept asking "hello?" and "is anyone there?" and then I stated, "please call back; I cannot hear you". The man on the other end sounded very polite and said he would call back and sorry. I then looked up the number and read all these comments about this being from The Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, so my suspicions are probably correct that he was just trying to get money out of us, possibly donations. So far, any call that I receive where I do not hear anything at first and then a click have all been from telemarketing type callers.

Got a call from them too. They said they were calling from (not on behalf of but FROM) the chief of police. I said which chief of police, and they responded "your local chief". They didn't even know what town I am in. Very rude and they lied. Hung up on them and started to do some checking and look what I found.

The company that is doing this telemarketing is called sound-tel (sound-tele.com) based in seattle. look it up. better yet give them a call directly and tell them how you feel. (425) 392-3120

Another officer of the company is named Brian Gabriel. Can't find a address or home number for him. they both have a linkedin profile and you can get info about them on their website under "about us".

If you don't like these annoying and rude calls, use any and all of the above to voice your displeasure with this company.

This number keeps calling and calling and NOONE is on the other end. Dead air then a click disconnecting. Comes up "local area call" and the area code is no where near us, local my butt!! We are on the Do Not Call list and this doesn't seem to matter with all the soliciting calls we get here, not quite sure what the do not call list is good for yet. Hate the interruptions from no nonsense calls who don't talk.

Brother in law, a police officer, said never to donate to these supposed police charities.  Said they are scams and a large percentage of the money donated goes to the administrators.  I always tell these callers to send me their finacials detailing how much actually goes to the charity, and that pretty much shuts them up.
