Received a call on 4/14 at 11:48 from "Rewards Claim" on my Caller ID.  Not sure if it's a scam or telemarketer.  I didn't answer.

Rewards claim on caller id. Recorded message blathered about "an important message about your current electricity provider..."

I received a call from this number you receive a automated message  and they tell you may qualify for lower electric bill, so I held on and the woman asked me who my electric bill was from and when I told her it was from the town I live in she hung up on me, Nice!  LOL

Also got this call, although I did not let it go to ans. machine, so didn't realize it was yet ANOTHER of the "Lower Your Electric Bill" SCAM.  Most of these calls have been 'from within' MA or New England (if one is to believe the SPOOFED phone numbers.)

I STRONGLY SUSPECT that AMERICAN CORPORATIONS are behind these calls.  The BULK of these calls come in our our LONG-held Home Land Line - the one # tied to ALL our accounts.  *TIME WARNER CABLE* has been running ads constantly for "Home Solar Panels" and "Lowering Your Electric Rates."  There are always Toll Free #s to call, BUT WE HAVE **NOT** CALLED ANY of them.

Still, we've gotten SIXTY-ONE (61) calls for both of these SCAMS.  You CANNOT 'buy' solar panels over the phone and these "lowered electric rates" are all SCAMS; one ends up paying FAR MORE in the end than if you stick with a REGULATED UTILITY.  So, HOW is it we keep getting these calls?  I STRONGLY BELIEVE that when TWC accepts these ads its with a SECONDARY contract with these SCUMBAG ADVERTISERS that THEY GET ALL THE SUBSCRIBERS Names and Phone Numbers.  THEN these SCUMBAG COMPANIES contract with INDIA CALL CENTERS to CALL AND HARASS us.  Virtually ALL the tactics these INDIA CALL CENTERS use are ILLEGAL:  ROBODIALERS, PRE-RECORDED MESSAGES, SPOOFED Names and NUMBERS, and Call times OUTSIDE of the allowed DNC Law (BEFORE 8AM and AFTER 9PM local times.) Since these call centers are OVERSEAS they are 'exempt' from the DNC list laws - or at least they are  UNENFORCEABLE.  TRACE these tactics BACK TO THE SOURCE and you will find AMERICAN **AMORAL/UNETHICAL** ANTI-SOCIAL COMPANIES - LIKE **TIME WARNER CABLE**  - Behind this whole debacle.

ALL these calls are likely  from OVERSEAS INDIAN or PAKISTANI CALL CTRS: heavy INDIAN-ASIAN/MIDDLE EASTERN accents.

It is funny as I live in a town that does their own electric and has good prices.  They should know who they are calling.

Caller ID said Illegal Scam.

I got a call from this number and it showed upon caller ID as "ILLEGAL SCAM"

My caller ID said same thing. I got a call today. Did not answer it.
