Who is making these calls?

A "Logan Cain" left a voice mail and stated he was from "Lead Investigations" and asked  for me by name. He said it had to do with a check fraud case, left a case number and I had until 1PM to call back. He threatened to have a warrant issued for my arrest in the county I lived in.

Typical debt agency tactics, try to sound like a legal agency, give out a case number and threaten legal action which they have no right to do.

I called back 3 days later and got their voice mail. I said I knew they were a Debt collection agency and to send me proof of debt or we had nothing to talk about. If they persisted in threatening baseless "legal actions" I would hire a lawyer and report them to every government agency I could think of.

Don't get hoodwinked, know your rights and give the B*****ds everything back they dish out.

UPDATE- "Logan Cain" called me back and this time I answered his call. He had received my previous voice mail and he stated he was not associated with a debt collection agency, made no threats regarding legal action and it had to do with check fraud on my part. I asked him the amount and who was bringing the legal action. He stated it was *T Financial" and then he stated some legal mumbo jumbo language about  "making a false or fraudulent claim in a loan application" or some such. I asked how I could settle this and he said of course I could pay the amount of money I "owed" to the financial company to settle out of court....HAHAHA....right,

I asked for proof of debt and "Logan" said he could mail or fax it to me. I gave him my valid junk e-mail address (It is a valid e-mail address, I just use it when I have to fill out warranty junk, or don't want spam sent to my real e-mail address). The fact that he agreed to send me a proof of debt to my e-mail tells me right off the bat that he is in the debt collection business.

"Logan" said he was with Elite Investigations and they are based in Plano Texas,  he even said I could Google the name and I did.... there is a web site for Elite Investigations but it is so amateurishly done, a 5-year old could make a better web site. It looks like a web site template was used to just get something "official" to display. The listed number is different from the one "Logan" called from and I looked it up on BBB and the owner is listed with a totally different mail address.

Again, know your rights and don't be scared into sending money on a debt you do not owe.

Short Update- "Logan" called my number again but did not answer it. Listened to the voice mail and he was calling for somebody completely different!!! He used the same exact scripted words in his first phone call to me. That just reaffirms Elite Investigations is a debt collection agency.

Logan Kane called me from a company called "Elite Investigations" and threatened me, saying they were looking into "possible fraud into my checking account" and that if I didn't call him back by 2 pm I would be issued a warrant for my arrest in the county where I live! Ridiculous! I called the office, left a message that the call was harassing, that I wasn't afraid of them, and that if they called again, I would report them.

I received calls from this same company and the name they left on the voice mail Brian Rivera, when I called and asked for him they said no one by that name works there. They said a complaint has been filed which in fact it is an old credit debt and they knew my last 4 digits of social. it has been 5 yrs since I defaulted on this card and I tried to settle in 2014 but they would not settle. The number is different though, but they did call my husband and son stating an investigation is in process and that it looks suspicious that I relocated. Well, I have not relocated any where. Been in the same place for over 10 yrs.  They said that the creditor is filing a judgment against me. On the messages they threatened with calling my employer and new my son's name and husband's name. The amount owed is 900 after interest. I requested settlement in writing. They said they have sent letters to my home which I have not received anything. They were going to find out if there was a court date. Well I have not been served so not sure how there could be a court date. Is this just a tactic to collect a debt? 626-427-2816 is the number they left on voice mail. the call itself was restricted.
