who is this

Scam! They called me twice yesterday saying it was someone from Winnebago County Jail wanting something. I dont know anyone in jail, so I hung up. They called right back and I hung up again. Today I got another call from an 800 number of the same thing. Didnt answer that one either.

received call today from this number - said it was from El Paso Correctional Facility. Number appears with GTL Houston in caller ID.

This is a nightmare company that handles inmate calls they get their hands on your number and pass it around. I called and had the number blocked and they started in again this afternoon.

These people just don't quit--I am contacting the state atty general. They are still calling me even after they supposedly blocked my number.

They call me and it says 'this is a call from an inmate in a correctional facility'. I know a lot of people that could be in jail so i always wanna answer. Lol

Well, if they insist it is because someone you know is in jail and you do not know it yet, and how the person can tell you if you do not answer?

they people keep callin my no. i do not know anyone in jail in texas or any other state so i called had my no. blocked and they still keep callin me, i wish i could figure out how to stop these kinda calls to me??? grrrrrr

I actually use this service, but I do know that you can call to talk to a representative at this number 877-214-3710 and they can block your number from the service.  Hope this helps.

I believe they are trying to hijack a phone line to make calls for free from jail.  Heard of this a long time ago where they can punch a few numbers in when an answering machine picks up to try to forward calls to another number.  Unsure how this works.

It can be from any jail.  They have to call collect

its my boyfriend calling from the jail, but its 1.00 a minute to use the phone service. Its a huge amount on your phone bill. Unless you love the inmate then accept it, lmao.....they give you 30 free seconds of usage every call. He says what he wants to say and after 30 seconds we hang up. LMAO.

They are inmate calls. My son was arrested and when he tried to make his first call, it came though on this number. They let you hear who the caller is and then ask for a credit card number for 14.99 for 10 min or less

Sadly, my husband knows a lot people who have been in jail, so he accepted the first collect call, but nothing came through. We were charged $9.99. Then we were charged 2 more times in the space of a week without even receiving a call. I got my wireless company to remove the charges and block any collect calls.

So I know someone in jail, but I don't keep my ringer on at work.  This one offers a text message, but I never hear who it is calling me.  Then I have a few calls sprinkled in (not every time this number calls me) that is from 800-283-8314 for offender connect.  Are they linked?
