Someone from this number calls several times a day. No one on the line

[They have also called from 832-497-1327]. These people have called me on my work line all week.  I tried to find out who they were by giving them the phone number, they say I'm not in their system and hang up on me.  But they kept on calling.  Now they have started to call my cell phone asking me to verify my ss#.  THAT I will not do for anyone I do not know.  The lady says they are Green Mountain Capital and it is against the law for them not to verify my social.  I told her I have never done business with them and if they are a collection agency you need to identify yourself as such.  She keeps saying we are Green Mountain Capital and I need to verify your social.  I told her no and to take me out of your system.  She said very well then.  What???????  I believe if this is a repretable company they would have no problem telling me who they are and what they want.  DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE THAT REFUSES TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES!

Well these people called, I didn't recognize the number as someone that has called before.  I answer the phone, NO ONE TALKING, clearly someone is on the line.  Same as before.  They want you to call them back and ask if they called, yada yada yada....Guess I will report them again.

Don't give ANY of your personal information over the phone ANYTIME; especially when you are not the one that initiated the call to a verified phone number.

If the phone call begins like this...

You:  Hello.
Caller:  Is this Todd X?
You:  Yes.
Caller:  Before I begin I need to ask you a few questions.

...hang up.  It's some kind of bill collector that got the wrong number.
