Person just called, but hung up when I answered

I have a recording of a disconected number, I play this whenever I get unknown/spammer calls. Has been working great. Used to get 4-5/day, now only 1-2/week. WHenever you answer your phone, that number goes on a list of good numbers which they then sell to other telegangsters, UNLESS the response is the 3-tone "this number is out of service" which tells thier compter that your number is no good..

"Sharon" of Google Ads called again. "for more info press 1" - I do and get some guy. I ask for Sharon and he replies, "you got me" and I ask who he is. Silence. I say, I'm on the do not call list. He hangs up...

dropping names of unrelated companies like Google.  This is SPAM.  For a small fee there are services out there that cater to anyone who wants their system make a constant stream of cold calls with spoofed number I.D.'s, then collect debit card numbers from the 1% or less that actually fall for it and answer.  They have no intention or capability of providing any service at all despite what theysay.  One sucker in 100,000 = drain one checking account per day.  After a few weeks: voila!, a beach house in the Caymans and a customized Porsche.  My recommendation: block this week's spoof number before you get the call.

I put the number on an adult chat website.  They stopped calling me.

I am unable to block this number. When I answer a recording comes on telling me I haven't updated my Google listing. I have no Google listing. I'm unable to talk to anyone. Frustrating.....been going on for years from different telephone numbers. The call block I have with my telephone co. can't block it.

Called and hung up. I believe this is a telemarketer trying to see if your number is valid. I am already on a do not call list.

asked to be removed 3 times in 2 weeks. keeps calling anyway.

I called 714-233-3286 and received a recorded message that said, "Thank you for calling back. If you do not wish to be on our preferred marketing list please press 1 now to have your name removed." After pressing 1 the recording said, "Thank you for calling back. It may take 72 hours to have your number removed."

Robocall. Will not remove my number. They hang up as soon as you say anything about stopping the calls.

Got a missed call. I do not return calls from telemarketers nor do i want to receive any call from them. Telemarketers! Stop calling.

Large operation with caller id spoofing. The numbers rotate around some but they do come back to the same ones. Nothing anyone can do but take your frustrations out any way you feel comfortable. I guarantee we will be reading about them in the papers someday getting busted by some federal agency IF they even reside within the US.
