This guy called me and said his name was Devon McCain as well  Said he worked in litigation processing and they were going to file a lawsuit against me for an old debt from US BANK.  Said he was turning over to a lawyer in the county which I lived and the court would call me with a court date, etc.  That I would never be able to get a job because there would be a wage garnishment against me, etc. I asked him if he was an attorney, and when he kept evading the answer, I said just answer my question.  That is when he told me to just SHUT UP!  lol He also told me that I was a liar and that he knew BS when he heard it, etc.   I then hung up.  He was rude, arrogant, and a HUGE bully.  If a person did not know any better, they would be very intimidated by him.  I pray that people don't give him any account numbers, etc.

I CAN TELL KATHY IS EMBELLISHING SOMEWHAT, BUT THESE GUYS DUE SEEM TO BE EXTREME... I LOOKED THEM UP AFTER MY WIFE GOT OUT OF COURT WITH THEM.  THEY SUED HER FOR A US BANK ACCOUNT AND WE HAD PROOF THAT WE PAID US BANK... HAHA DUMB COLLECTION AGENCY, GET YOUR FACTS TOGETHER BEFORE DRAGGING PEOPLE INTO COURT.

Actually, her comments are not off the mark at all. I'm going through the same thing and can attest to the rude and ridiculous bullying. I was barely allowed to speak and "Devon" wouldn't provide their address. They have contacted my employer several times and have even posed as lawyers. I filed a complaint with the FTC and Attorney General this morning.

i don't remember if they posed as lawyers when contacting us originally, i do know a lawyer was there for my wife and several other defendants.  they probably just make the calls for the lawyers.  they didn't have their facts together as far as my wife goes, we had paid if off long before.
i did find out that they do allow opportunities to take care of the matter outside of court but like i said we had already taken care of it AND HAD PROOF.

if you receive a summons to appear in court from these people, do you have to show up? Will a warrant be issued if I don't?

A man named Moe Gates from the "Office of John Hardin" left a rude, threatening message demanding a return phone call within 1 day and mentioning legal representation.

The man that called me said he was John Hardin, i asked him several times when i could or was allowed to speak what office he was from he would never answer, he threatened me with jail time over a debt, he demanded money over the phone that day, i told him him there was no way id pay someone without some type of paper work or being served. He hung up on me when i called him back he said he didnt have to provide any type of proof that i owed a debt. Its clear he dont know the laws in my state. He didnt even bother to ask what my current address or employer was something is fishy here

I got the same message from the office of john hardin... can't verify a john harden on google... said it was referencing a complaint... I am calling the back tomorrow... will log what I find out.

Just got a call from this number and was told that it is pressing matter regarding the property. I don't own any property so have no clue. Really rude message though.

I just received the exact same message.  Stating it was regarding the property of my address, which I am renting,  I had one day to call bask.  Very rude.  So  I called the number back and got a voicemail.

Call for unknown person fron Burton Roy??? from John Hardin with a case #. Very rude and obnoxious.

I have received two messages from this same number, first from a woman named Jamie from "the offices of John Hardin" who claimed that I am being sued by the owners of property I once rented from and that I had 24 hours to contact them regarding the pressing matter. When I returned the call, she didn't let me speak at all and when I did, I was told to be quiet. She said the matter regarded an old account with US Bank and then threatened garnishing wages, etc. She hung up on me. My second message was from "john Hardin" at the offices of "W. McCain" When I called him back to explain that under the federal fair debt collection practices it was against the law to call and threaten me or provide false or misleading messages, I was told to shut up and that he "knew I wouldn't do anything" So I reported the number as well as all information to the FTC

Received a call from this number today! The same man all of of you are speaking of was so rude to me. Refused to tell me what the matter of this suite was because I was angry for being misled by the message he left on my phone. He stated it was regarding my property which was a lie. The account he referred to was real but they want dbl. the amount i owe to begin with. I am contacting us bank when they open to find the correct number for my debt and paying it straight away. Then I'm reporting them to the state as well as us bank corporate! So glad I found this page!!!! i would have never known it wasnt a real lawyer or office judging by these statements and results.

He too, hung up on me and wouldnt let me ask any questions or speak!!!!

From my personal experience, Kathy is NOT blowing it out of context. My experience was almost identical to her. Ive been researching all night and as far as I can tell what he is doing is illegal and this office doesnt exist in Santa Ana. Im ignoring him and dealing with US bank directly. Im taking care if this now before these ppl get away with this!

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT give this man any info!!!! Hang-up!!!! I put in the work today and found who REALLY has my debt and it was 900 less than what this guy is asking for!!! WOW!!!!! I'm taking care of it today and reporting this man and phone number to the FTC and the attorney general!!!

Shady, shady, shady. Called my daughter and left message that it was important legal matter concerning my property. I called the number after giving them the case #. Was on hold for 5 min and hung up. Called her again next day, I again called, put on hold. Found this forum. Just waiting for them to call me again now. When they send me something in writing then I will discuss with them, until that NO. Told my daughter to tell them not to call her again as they do have my number. I have not had a US Bank account for 9 years since my husband died. And filed bankruptcy the next year due to medical bills.They threaten to proceed with legal course. PLEASE DO. Have my lawyer just waiting! By the way they did not say they were lawyers, but did everything but say that.

I've never answered their calls but they have been calling for a month. Several calls from several different people claiming they are gonna take me to court and do this that and the other if I don't call back by the end of the day LOL and a month later... So I decided to buy a cheap little pre paid cell phone and call them and we have some wonderful conversations because they are dying to know who I am and wellps their just never gonna know :) Its a BS scam debt collection agency who isnt hired by whom they are collecting for. They purchase the debt from whom you owe it to and then they act like they have the power to bring the hammer down lol come on people if these were legit legal claims they were making you would be served a subpoena at your door and last but not least lets not forget after 7 years your debt falls off your credit record. There is no legal process where they take you to court etc. Stop being scared of this debt collection company who operates illegally and give them a call from an unknown number and waste their time ;)
